The problem with national anyhowness is that it trickles down, corrupting first the state institutions, then private organizations, then gets to the citizenry eventually. I have been dragging a simple claim in a case of occupational disease with @nsitf and @gtbank since 2018.
@AbduljalaalMusa The Nigerian army is not using bolt action rifles and as far as hardware is concerned their inventory is pretty decent. Their tactics however are CLEARLY outmoded, revealing that they have learned NOTHING from 20 costly yrs of fighting insurgents and that is truly disheartening.
Make no mistake, this what Nigeria is up against come next year. These vagabonds have perfected their plans and this is a test run. In order for them to vote by proxy, they will compromise the BVAS and ensure accreditation fails. A demonic party.
The federal and state governments have silently moved on from this incident and actually abandoned 200 people to their fate, and APC are actively campaigning for re-election. If any dolt mentions that we shouldn't "politicize insecurity" you should deck him/her. APC is solely interested in elections and power, not governance and service!!
Nearly five months on, almost 200 victims of the mass abduction carried out by terrorists in Woro Village, Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, remain in captivity.
The village head tells @fijnigeria on Saturday that the federal and state governments have stayed quiet.👇🏾
Is Nigeria doing better since 2023? Short answer: Hell NO!! Long answer: it depends on who you are and where you play.
For those who depend on capital markets and the FX market, the stability is a breath of fresh air. Emefiele and Buhari were idiots. Cardoso is great.
For those in the streets, things simply got worse. I have sent more to assist family members in the last 3 years than at any time in my life. Poverty increased.
The top-down approach will NOT work unless there are major interventions at the bottom. Dangote, Elumelu, or Otedola will not fix our roads or provide security; that is the government's job.
A healthy Nigeria at the bottom also benefits those at the top. I don't believe we have the luxury of things trickling down again. Remittances may be at great risk amid nationalist agitations and movements abroad.
Depending on the Diaspora to keep supporting a nation is impracticable. That was what Emefiele banked on for years, and it never worked. The Diaspora is tired. People are also thinking about their own lives and futures. Jobs are being lost, and AI is eating up the world.
If we don't build up our nation today, we will have no nation one day. We are slowly moving from Abegistan to TerrorStan. Security and Infrastructure should be priorities. A healthy foreign reserve balance doesn't help the man on the streets.
A new Nigeria is POssible when Nigeria is OK.
I went to Birnin Gwari about 3yrs ago when there was an uptick in bandit activity in that axis. I've been in "dangerous" territory previously but that trip was hair-raising. Approaching a town called Buruku preceding the final leg, I noticed my escorts became restless. You see, over the next few kilometres, you could get shot by either Nigerian troops or bandits, depending on the time or sheer bad luck. The leader gave me a ring identical to one he had on, told me IF we get shot at, I would disappear instantly. The problem was he couldn't confirm WHERE I would wind up so I politely declined to wear the ring too.
If you pick the bank statement of any MDA or government revenue account and patiently look through it, you will see who is stealing money and where it is going to. They don't even try to blur the trail, just mindless thievery, and it's shocking that EFCC and other anti-graft agencies struggle to convict suspected government looters.
@ishaqsamaila5 The state this incompetent man governed has multiple terrorist groups ensuring life is hard and short for many innocent citizens. Children cannot go to school and farmers cannot go to farms yet his family are well catered for and insulated from the destruction he orchestrated.
This is a country with 3 tiers of government but it is being overrun by non-state actors. Supporters of the government are seeing this BUT will still begin by telling you the country is better than before, and honestly you just want to tie them to a pole somewhere.
Residents of gummi in Zamfara state are protesting insecurity in the area and have blocked the highway.. A massive bandits push by bandits yesterday night around 11.30pm has forced thousands of refugees into gummi.. Another 1000+ refugees entered Birnin tudu in the night.... People from villages are still flowing into big towns this morning..
@officialABAT@mofinigeria@nadfng It's sheer dishonesty to be parotting food security when there's insecurity in the entire food belt. Where will the surviving farmers utilize the inputs or the fertilizer when they cannot access their farmlands?
@Sarki_sultan And that's fair, you cannot police advocacy or activism. All of us have voices and individual platforms to plead our OWN causes. If some regions are more interested in Hadiza Gabon instead of insecurity, so be it.
