In Punjab, the birth of a girl child was considered auspicious, and mothers and grandmothers would start embroidering Phulkari dupattas for her, symbolising her role in nurturing future generations.

Over time, distinctive styles such as Chope, Subhar, Sainchi, Tilpatra, Neelak, Ghungat Bagh, and Chammas have flourished, keeping this vibrant craft tradition alive across generations.

The India–Oman CEPA marks a significant step in expanding global opportunities for Indian talent. Through Oman’s best-ever services offer to India across 127 services sub-sectors, the Agreement unlocks new avenues for professionals, startups and knowledge-led enterprises.

With enhanced mobility provisions, including stay periods of up to 90 days for business visitors, 180 days for independent professionals and up to 4 years for intra-corporate transferees, the CEPA strengthens professional mobility, services trade and deeper economic integration between India and Oman.
