Phulkari, meaning “flower work,” is more than an embroidery tradition, it is a celebration of life, heritage, and womanhood. In Punjab, the birth of a girl child was considered auspicious, and mothers and grandmothers would start embroidering Phulkari dupattas for her, symbolising her role in nurturing future generations.

Over time, distinctive styles such as Chope, Subhar, Sainchi, Tilpatra, Neelak, Ghungat Bagh, and Chammas have flourished, keeping this vibrant craft tradition alive across generations.

The initiative was launched by Hon'ble Ministers @JM_Scindia along with @himantabiswa in the presence of @DrSukantaBJP @PmargheritaBJP & @sjaju1, Secretary @MDoNER_India and other senior officials. Mission “Senehjori” aims to strengthen Assam’s unique Muga silk sector through cluster-based development, branding & value addition, positioning it as a globally competitive luxury textile ecosystem.

The India–Oman CEPA strengthens this partnership by improving market access and supporting long-term growth in agricultural trade. India is Oman’s second-largest agricultural supplier, with exports spanning rice, fruits, meat, eggs, biscuits and condiments. 

The agreement creates new opportunities for Indian farmers, exporters and food processors while deepening supply chain linkages between the two countries.

Member Secretary, Central Silk Board @IfsSivakumar visited the Forest College and Research Institute (FCRI), Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) on 02.06.2026 and interacted with students, scientists & faculty members on recent advancements and future prospects in the silk industry & sericulture sector. During the programme, Shri Sivakumar highlighted emerging developments in sericulture, scientific innovations, sustainable silk production and the growing role of #biotechnology & modern technologies in strengthening the Indian silk sector. He also reviewed CSB-funded projects, and held discussions with scientists on collaborative research & future strategies for #sericulture development.

The India–Oman CEPA enhances market access for Indian pharmaceutical products by enabling zero-duty treatment, quicker regulatory approvals, and more streamlined procedures. 

Measures such as fast-track authorisations, mutual recognition of GMP standards, and simplified compliance norms are expected to strengthen pharmaceutical trade and deepen healthcare cooperation.

Six years of empowering dreams, dignity and economic opportunity at the grassroots.

Under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi Ji, PM SVANidhi has transformed the lives of millions of street vendors by expanding access to formal credit, accelerating digital inclusion and creating new avenues for financial empowerment, benefiting those who form the backbone of India’s urban economy.

🔹 Over 75.5 lakh beneficiaries have availed more than 1.12 crore collateral-free loans worth over ₹17,800 crore.
🔹 Nearly 95% of beneficiaries accessed formal institutional credit for the first time, marking a major milestone in financial inclusion.
🔹 Over 34.8 lakh women street vendors have been empowered through the scheme.
🔹 More than 55 lakh vendors have been digitally onboarded, carrying out digital transactions worth nearly ₹8.96 lakh crore.
🔹 Around ₹800 crore has been disbursed through digital cashback incentives and interest subsidies.
🔹 Around 70% of beneficiaries belong to marginalised communities, reflecting the scheme’s inclusive and equitable reach.

A true embodiment of Antyodaya, PM SVANidhi continues to promote self-reliance, financial dignity and sustainable livelihoods, empowering millions of hardworking micro-entrepreneurs across the country.
