Sony has overplayed their hand.

I keep seeing people say it’s just too soon for all digital. But there is no context in which I would trust Sony to be consumer-friendly again at this point.

They’ve made themselves very clear and they’ve lost their soul. This future isn’t inevitable, nor is it good for anyone, but them.

So they ban under 16s from watching YouTube. Now they're trying to control what's shown on YouTube for everyone else.

Whilst acting like it's about child safety. Using it as a shield.

Calling it fighting disinformation.

Feed slots are finite.

Every boost for the BBC.

Is a demotion for someone else.

An independent creator goes down.

A journalist goes down.

A comedy video goes down.

So the government can push state-funded broadcasters up.

The BBC had a primary school during lockdown.

Called it a pandemic.

Kids were out of school for months.

The BBC called it necessary.

Social media exposed every contradiction in real time.

Now the government wants to block that.

By mandating the BBC gets first placement.

YouTube is fighting the plan.

Ofcom already did this for connected TVs.

First nine menu slots for PSBs.

Three slots for everyone else.

YouTube doesn’t want to do that for feeds.

But the government is consulting on laws.

To make it happen anyway.

Starmer is gone.

The plan is not.

EA en parallèle fait face à un soucis de connexion à deux facteurs... empêchant les joueurs de jouer à leur jeux dématérialisés (puisque inaccessibles hors ligne sans connexion contrairement aux versions CD)

Just to show you how scummy Sony is being with this news.

They anticipated their numbers would drop through people protesting/boycotting by canceling Ps Plus and pre-orders but they won't have to show their numbers to investors until the end of September.

Their next earnings call is July 31st however it only covers up to June 30th. They planned this out perfectly to drop it on July 1st for this very reason. The numbers dip early July, they have over 2 months to watch them HOPEFULLY recover as the deperate gamers crawl back and the investors see that Sony moving away from physical games didn't hurt anything.

Keep this is mind as we move forward. Sony is betting on you caving and crawling back to them in the coming weeks. Oh and so are the investors.
