We’re proud to partner with @ugwildlife to roll out data protection, privacy and cybersecurity awareness for wardens and rangers across Uganda’s national game parks.

From tourist registers and research permits to patrol GPS data and staff records, rangers handle sensitive personal data every day. These sessions will equip frontline teams with knowledge and tools to safeguard that data, prevent breaches, and build trust with visitors and surrounding communities.

As we work towards a Uganda where data protection and privacy are understood, practiced and observed by all, our team is currently delivering these awareness sessions across game parks in Northern and Western Uganda, helping strengthen responsible data handling in conservation efforts for generations to come. #PersonalDataisPrivate #DataPrivacyUG

We participated in a stakeholder validation meeting on the review of the Identification of Offenders Act, Cap. 127 organized by the @ULRCUg.

We provided guidance on key data protection and privacy considerations within the proposed legal framework, including the lawful processing of personal data for the investigation and detection of crime, data retention requirements for investigative purposes, the need for Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) when deploying emerging technologies and cross-border personal data transfer requirements, among others.

We thank the @ULRCUg for convening this engagement and for the opportunity to contribute to discussions aimed at strengthening Uganda’s legal and regulatory framework.
