Hi there, it's been a while! I've decided to return to creating The Odysseys, here's a quick re-intro https://t.co/UX788kg6ZZ
I'm not here much anymore, but I'll be posting updates about the game (and about other design things) to that substack
Ahead of tomorrow’s playtest, I’ve been working on making the Island cards for The Odysseys more evocative. Here you can see the before (top) and after (bottom) of a few cards - art, as always, by the awesome Vicente Araullo-Peters

...For this card, getting a really nice left-right separation between the two options (Scylla and Charybdis), and clearly linking them to the artwork has been key.
The layout and typography is still in flux - I'm wanting to work on more cards before committing to an approach.
The journey so far for the rules, art and layout for one of the cards in #theodysseysgame
The focus for me here is to best evoke the story being told and the rules being communicated... (1/2)

Finally getting a bit of traction with the Particulars education edition - here's a really early concepts of how this might look on a website

Nice, there are now online playtesting sessions for @pdyxs's kind of great card game about fate, The Odysseys.
Sign up, check it out on a Wednesday evening. https://t.co/wqlX14w4OB
@GeorginaWilcox @SeamusBlackley The company I work for (@Equal_Reality) does this for training in organisations. We're talking about potentially putting up some sort of publicly available demo atm... will let you know if/when this happens!
I'd really appreciate any shares or retweets, as well as feedback on the game (please send me your stories!). Putting a game out into the void is always scary, and every little bit helps
...Each player's goal is to pick themselves up from a planet, and when they do, they join the crew. Each crew member has a powerful one shot power that will impact the game from then on.
The main design imperatives for these module cards are simplicity and alterability - it must be easy for players to understand what they can do from the cards, which can be altered in creative ways. This way, each new player can easily learn the game, even as their ship evolves
