No one believed me when I told them this.
Riot actually flew me out to Sweden to be "Official Window Inspector" and make sure no one fell out of any buildings at their event...
Happy to say no one else went into a coma at the event! (I think)
@RiotPhroxzon League of legends is the funniest, most awesome game in the world. The thing that is so crazy is that the game costs nothing, its completely free to play. Thank you riot #ad
I’m sure there are many flaws with dynamic queue, but I’d argue most of them are just bc people are so used to soloq and have convinced themselves that’s a good competitive experience. No. The most fun I’ve had in competitive games are full lobby 5v5 (or what that game offers)
@drewlevin saw you talk about flex and dynamic queue, just wanted to add a point from someone who wasn’t from that time. To me it was such a shock that 5v5 pre-made wasn’t the default, or at least an option like in counterstrike. Sure, while it wouldn’t be 1/x
The first few weeks of league I played I was convinced flex queue was the pinnacle of gaming. The real 5v5 team experience, communication and strategy shine, no praying for random teammates not to be bad - all already built into the game. Oh how I wish I was right.
To me it makes no sense that this isn’t just the next step in competition. Clay offers this amazing thrill, but not often enough and on specific occasions with specific time windows, making the 5v5 pre-made highend competition not as accessible
I’ve never spent this much time on this app as I have done the past few days reading @drewlevin. Seeing developers interact and respond to feedback and thoughts are amazing. Makes me think of @Mortdog and how helpful and open to respond to feedback he is in chat. Well played Riot
@drewlevin@doaenel@WhatleyLeague For what it’s worth, I think the community enjoys some yap every now and then. It’s hard to know what’s going on behind the scenes, and easy to blindly blame anything and anyone for a few bad experiences with a game. We love the game for a reason, good job to you all!
@drewlevin@doaenel@WhatleyLeague I hope I will look back at the future of league with as much passion as I do now with what was a few years ago. Hearing stories like this from your magic days really makes me exciting for what’s to come, thinking we are in good hands. Thank you.
@drewlevin@doaenel@WhatleyLeague I couldn’t have put it better myself. Walked around all day thinking of how to get around harder matchups, discussing it with as many higher elo Warwick players i could, waiting to get home and try them out in 1v1 setting, finally putting it in the sheet when tested. So fun.
@drewlevin@doaenel@WhatleyLeague It was some of the most fun and community engaging I’ve ever had. A year ago I stopped updating it, every burnt felt pointless as there seemed to be one setup to go every game that was just generally really solid in 80-90% of games. I miss that skill expression and community
@drewlevin@doaenel@WhatleyLeague I’m poking here with a comment just to show how much I agree with this. When I started playing Warwick I kept track of everything in a public spreadsheet. It was the most fun I’ve ever had in gaming trying to figure out builds and tunes to optimise matchups and strategy.
The games I play are legit League, Arena, TFT and LoR. Riot fucking cooked, idc keep making 500$ skins if this means I get more awesome fucking games like this. Whatever they are feeding their game employees- it’s working
