When I was a kid, my family was all hanging out in the living room when we heard some loud banging outside
Turns out, someone was breaking into my step-father's truck
I remember us all looking out there at the arm full of stuff he took
Mostly his tools, but he had my basketball under his arm
As a boy who loved nothing more than playing sports, I was understandably upset
Without missing a beat, my step-father went outside calmly and beat the breaks off this guy (without overdoing it)
He put his tools back in his truck and brought the basketball inside, and handed it to me
I've never felt so safe and cared for than in that moment
Get fit, learn to defend yourself, your loved ones, and your property
I hope my kids feel this safe when I'm around
If it was easy everyone would be doing it. If you want something in your life, you must be willing to sacrifice a lot.
You think losing 175 lbs in 5 months, keeping the weight off for 4 years and running a 100 miler was easy ? No
But being 350 lbs was harder
Everyday regardless of the scenario I stick to my routine, the same meal, same time, One meal, 24 hr fast daily, 20,000 steps, and a lift.
Anniversary? Birthday? Don’t matter. I stick to it.
Why? Because mentally I fear going back to my past self. So to keep my mind at ease, by being obsessive with everything I do when it comes to nutrition and fitness.
Work for everyone ? Absolutely not, but it’s what works for me and I have to stick to it.
Talk is cheap. My actions speak for me.
