Rain on plastic.
Cold Tennessee air.
And the architect of chaos watching it all unfold.
Repost for a chance of winning a 4x6 print. I’ll select 40 at random to celebrate the 40th edition of the Barkley Marathons.

Going for an “any time” train ticket because understanding what constitutes “off peak” requires an expert knowledge of advanced calculus, economics, law and philosophy.
Pulled some weeds (I’m looking at you, wild blackberry vines from hell). Now it’s time to make my simple delicious corn soup. It’s:
8 ears of corn.
1 stick of butter
2 Vidalia onions sliced.
Lime juice (cuts the sweet and is key)
Cayenne pepper (if wanted)
So here we go.
The #dawnchorus today is all song thrushes and black #birds. It’s so loud it woke me up. So I went outside in my nightshirt, looked at the moon in the watercolour sky and just listened. What a beautiful start to the day

1 car crash and 2 of the most difficult but greatest months of my life.
I’m an emotional mess tonight but I just want to say, no matter how dark a place you are in. It can and WILL get better. 2 years ago I was in the darkest place in my life, 2 years later we have made history.
Thank you to everyone who believed in me. I love you all very much. I’ll do a post when I’m able to process what’s just happened. MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS ❤️
And so it begins …. @BBCSpringwatch Peak District multicam now live from Short Eared Owl, Pied Flycatcher, Tawny Owl and Redstart nests (iPlayer account needed) https://t.co/wXGnnvEDpK
Last night may have been the greatest and worst night of my life. Finishing 21 miles at 1am as it poured down for hours on end, truly showed me that despite experiencing the worst pain I’ve ever experienced- your body and mind can simply do beautiful things.
I’ll be honest I have no idea how I’m still going. It feels like my body gave up working properly about a week ago but I’m so determined now to get to that finish line that no pain is going to stop me. Spending 7-8 hours in your own head everyday makes you rethink a lot in life, probably turning me insane at this point but it also makes you realise how short life really is.
3 days to go now until the finale. Tomorrow at 6.50am I will be live on BBC Breakfast. Thank you for making a dream come true! Keep going, I’m so proud of you. Mental health matters
