@PaulMBigland @amotorhomme @GarethDennis This tenuous statement is based on what data exactly?
Perhaps you can provide the socio economic breakdown across car ownership in zone 6 boroughs for us? To evidence your assumption.
@Daves1412@GarethDennis@driverbod125 Exactly.
They’re playing the same game with the railway, letting operators take the blame for DFT (& ultimately Treasury) direction on the Ticket Office closures.
@IFSvids@PeterMy53679910@GarethDennis Yes indeed. Seems half baked. Doesn’t address congestion, newer vehicles will still clog roads making public transport & active travel unattractive.
The poor suffer as they can only afford older cars. Seems unfair. I’d rather just ban cars in cities.
More equitable!
You have produced no evidence whatsoever to back your spurious claims.
There is a significant difference between anecdote and lived experience.
Best just stick to hanging around on platforms taking pictures of trains.
Maybe also start taking ticket offices - for posterity?
@peakrob@andrew10612 @amotorhomme @GarethDennis I judge people by the rubbish they tweet on subjects that can be critiqued for factual accuracy. I'm not interested if they're nice to cats or go to church regularly.
@PaulMBigland@andrew10612 @amotorhomme @GarethDennis But you don’t know anything about either person.
Your assumptions just serve to make you look even more foolish.
@PaulMBigland@andrew10612 @amotorhomme @GarethDennis I think you have done that all by yourself to be honest.
The high handed know it all approach is never a good look.
Especially when emphasising your lack of knowledge and understanding.
Being old does not automatically make you an expert on everything.
Try to remember that.
@andrew10612@PaulMBigland @amotorhomme @GarethDennis Point is he doesn’t understand because he fails to grasp the fundamental difference between Z2 & Z6. He assumes everyone in Z6 is a rich city tube commuter, doesn’t have a clue how crap & badly planned the buses are, & has no idea how hard it is to work outside the 9-5 in Z6.
@PaulMBigland@andrew10612 @amotorhomme @GarethDennis You’ve no knowledge of the necessity of population density to make public transport effective and attractive. Z2 has high density Z6 low density so less buses - get it? Andrew is spot on. You are both patronising and incredibly ill informed.
@nevervotedtory1 It’s when you go over to mainland Europe that you see how things could be. Eg Spain, incredibly civilised by comparison.
But we prefer to model ourselves on America.
Pitiful.
You seem to fail to understand the significant difference between inner and outer London. Guessing you have never lived there.
Yes there are buses after tea, but they run round the suburbs empty.
@NicolaDolby5@BeckettUnite Much more broke after the War too, but there was Socialism and vision then, it formed the NHS and built masses of Social housing.
But feel free to believe their establishment claptrap. Keep your head down and work hard. Feed the rich.
