Massively. Big distance makes good habits harder. You can get a job closer to work and just find yourself losing weight. All of a sudden gym is possible. All of a sudden you’re not too tired to cook. Your social life picks up cos you can accommodate after work drinks with friends. You can be a whole different person simply by working closer to home.
It is unfortunate that with the way things are set up, we are forced to leave our respective homes for Joburg to all try and make it in life. I’d be really happy with living the life I’m living in Durban.
