Autumn tones @TheBotanics 🍂 Here we have designed mixed borders. This is the combination of herbaceous perennials, shrubs, bulbs and trees which provide a tapestry of colours and textures that change through out the year. #horticulture#gardendesign
Phlox paniculata ‘Balmoral’ flowering @TheBotanics. Thinking of the Royal family and the nation mourning the loss of Her Majesty The Queen. Our longest serving and greatest ever monarch. Balmoral was the Queen’s favourite Scottish home 🏴 🤍
The annual @PictorialMeadow continues to flower into September outside the Botanic Cottage @TheBotanics. The Coreopsis tincotoria now flowering gives the display an autumnal feel. Don’t miss it! #horticulture#Edinburgh
The spectacular Digitalis ferruginea @TheBotanics also know as the ‘rusty foxglove’. It grows in woods, clearings and scrub areas in the northern Mediterranean. It is a great plant for a shade to part shade border and a definite must for a woodland garden. #Horticulture

Very sad news as the tree linked the current site to the original Sandyford site. It was planted there in 1817 before being moved to current location in 1841, now part of the trunk will be left on site as part of the tree trail and to create a habitat as the wood decays.
Wherever you look when you visit @BenmoreBotGdn you’ll want to take a photo! Just look at this one from @johnwolf7707 from the ornamental pond. Benmore Botanic Garden is a great day out for nature lovers.
The extraordinary Berkheya purpurea @TheBotanics. Prickly foliage and a spike of lilac purple daisy like flowers. Native to South Africa. Likes full sun and well drained soil. #horticulture#Edinburgh#Botanics
