Excited to share this work just released by @PNASNews from our lab @PurdueInsects. #IPM can reduce insecticides and improve grower yields by improving pollination. Huge thanks to @Kaplan_Lab and everyone who helped on this work!

My response to a recent article in the @nypost that criticized our lab's research on neonicotinoid insecticides. The intent of the article was to spread disinformation, fool the public, and influence policymakers. Please don't be fooled, folks.
.@pecenka26 and @Kaplan_Lab describe the use of integrated pollinator management in crop management, which can provide a more pollinator-suitable environment

Happy to share @pecenka26's 2nd PhD chapter, out in @SciReports, on how IPM affects pollinators in Midwestern US agroecosystems. This part focuses on the health of managed bees & diversity of 41 wild sp. acting as crop pollinators.

There's a new PhD in #entomology. 🪲
We are happy to announce Dr. Ivan Grijalva has successfully defended his #PhD dissertation, "Unconventional Strategies for #Aphid Management Using Smart Computer Vision Models in #Sorghum"!🪴
Huge congrats! We're so proud.
Our colleague @ana_pineda_ explains in @NatureCareers@Nature how she changed the scientific career for entrepreneurship. Now she helps other scientists to improve their productivity and writing skills 👩🔬📈✍️
We are very lucky to work with her 😃

New study out in @JAppliedEcology led by former postdoc Ashley Leach. We show that implementing IPPM on commercial watermelon farms can virtually eliminate insecticide use (from 22 total sprays down to 1) while increasing pollination & yields! 🍉🐝

Today is National Honey Bee Day. With support from @USDA_NIFA, @PurdueInsects conducts research to conserve this important pollinator that is key to the honey market. @USDAScience https://t.co/yDQ9rbDtmK
@Ingwell_vegIPM, @VeggieGuan, and I are recruiting a team of 3 grad students (MS or PhD) and/or postdocs to work on a newly funded USDA project focusing on insect biocontrol in high tunnels.

@randajab @MarySalcedo@BugSlewth Yep! I been working since start of 2022 @Beeflow which is a start-up company using precision pollination to improve yields for growers across numerous crops. Please feel free to DM if you have questions!
My pick for the most impactful pollinator health paper of 2021: "IPM reduces insecticide applications by 95% while maintaining or enhancing crop yields through wild pollinator conservation" @PNASNews My @beejournal summary here: https://t.co/JopDsopA63 @pecenka26@Kaplan_Lab
