Applied for a warehouse job. Three rounds of interviews, a skills assessment, a background check, a drug test.
Six weeks. Then a form email.
I'm 34. No record. No gaps. Two prior warehouse jobs on the resume.
Meanwhile every headline says employers are "desperate for workers" and can't find anyone.
So which is it.
Because from where I'm standing, the jobs that are supposedly begging to be filled are somehow still unfilled after I applied, interviewed three times, and got ghosted.
Either the labor shortage is fake, or the hiring process itself is the thing that's broken.
Nobody in charge wants to say which.
