@bobbierath @PhDVoice Not only is it normal, taking a break from your manuscript is NECESSARY. It lets you edit rigorously and this eventually improves the clarity of writing. Good luck!
The chart showed for the first time that cholera is not airborne but rather a water-borne disease. It also kicked off the scientific discipline of epidemiology and pushed forward geographical analysis.
This is how much a single chart can accomplish.

My book "Research Data Visualization and Scientific Graphics" features a chart from 1854 by the physician John Snow.
The chart demonstrated that cholera is spreading around a single water pump. The pump was shut down and the outbreak of cholera stopped, saving lives.
