@_The_Prophet__ Seems like there is some $150billion of dollar financing on Chinese commercial real estate. Although only 2% of the total, the rest is in more manageable RMB, is there enough USD liquidity to refinance these loans? Part of the geopolitical discussions?
Hi Andreas. What are your thoughts on the GAW loan default. USD 260 million loan backing Shanghai commercial real estate has not been refinanced. Possible USD 150 billion total in USD loans backing this sector. Only 2% of the total but the rest is denominated in more manageable RMB. Still if a large portion of the USD 150 billion cannot be refinanced, what are the implications in the short to medium term. This seems critical?
Interesting discussion on the future of Britain.

Could you try to explain in simple terms, the relationship and plumbing between the Fed, the Commercial Banks, and the Treasury. If the Fed creates reserves to buy Treasuries, how does these reserves transfer to the Commercial Banks? Understand if kept inert, money does not get into the economy but does increase liquidity and asset prices - as in post GFC pre COVID QE where cost inflation was not impacted.
@BittelJulien Hi Julien. All looks good and well in line with your plan. Thanks. Could you comment on Japan. Weakening currency, higher JPY bond yields etc. How will this impact capital flows and global liquidity?
