now that early 2000s fatphobia is fully back, I’m gonna need thin people to get better at responding to body shamers.
you need to go beyond “wow haha you think *I’M* fat? Wrong!” and actually challenge the idea that fat is bad
Anyway, if you made it this far please sign this petition telling the Ontario government to reverse its plan to scrap safe consumption sites and needle exchange

My comments from today:
i’ll never forget the first person i found unconscious: lips blue, slumped over. the first person who died after i did CPR but it was too late. the first time i called to tell a mom their son was gone and the wail on the other end of the phone.

too many of my neighbours have been fighting for this. our neighbourhood will be less safe now. there will be more people using in public, more needless overdoses and deaths, and fewer chances to refer people to treatment and services. this is monstrous

We need BOTH treatment and SCS. Any attempt to create a false antagonism between treatment and harm reduction approaches will cost precious lives. The government needs to increase investment in both evidence-based harm reduction and treatment, not pit them against each other.
The @cityoftoronto is using hostile architecture to ensure the St Stephen's encampment eviction can't come back. Is this how we're using our money to end homelessness @MayorOliviaChow ?
