So a top financial services firm expands outside of London. Amsterdam? Paris? No - Birmingham. It’s good to see such a vote of confidence in what is a great city. https://t.co/x9ytD9Hiu4
This has to be good. But follow the link ‘digital toolkit’ where it says “It could also be that you wish to report [to the FCA for wrongdoing] a family member or neighbour”. It’s kind of the FCA to ensure family and litigation lawyers aren’t short of work https://t.co/RG1e5mxsHN

This is positive - there was a danger the proposed simplifications could become reductions in employee protection. For example calculating overtime in holiday pay is a nuisance but for some it is an essential part of their earnings.
David Davis in 2016 reassured people who voted for Brexit that their workplace rights were safe. Some simplifications could be helpful for everyone but not if they lead to weaker protections. Let’s see where this goes, the Red Wall will be watching. https://t.co/Fp10L5C8cK
Points to note from the consultation on post employment restrictive covenants - it applies not only to ‘non-competes’ but to all restrictive covenants; it suggests either a ban or compensation; it recognises non-competes can currently last for 12 months. https://t.co/7s8VTFV6q4
