#SeniorSwiftie here! Fan since day 1 but rep is the Era that radicalized me. I have 4 rescue dogs and a cat I'm obsessed with. My husband is the greatest & supports all my Taylor-based choices. I'm a therapist. I like to throw knives in my spare time. My tweets will get better!!!
When I described Widow’s Bay as a “single screen show,” a handful of people were like “well what does that even mean?” This. This is what it means. It’s a show you have to watch, not a show you can listen to while scrolling Instagram.
To be VERY clear, I don't just loathe generative ai slop. I also hate golf, lawns, space tourism, war, monoculture farming, clear cutting forests, building on floodplains, deep sea mining, development that destroys habitats & corporations bulldozing ecosystems for endless "growth". Also, fvck a data center.
not gonna bitch and only gonna say this once... ophelia is a perfectly written and perfectly produced song and it's a crying shame if it's not her first soty/roty
@presumptiveflow he looked practically identical to your sweet baby when he was a puppy, i know you know about those sweet velvet snoofle kisses they give 😭😭💕💕
Please adopt a dog from a shelter. Please do not go out and buy a purebred dog from some breeder because you think you are Taylor Swift.
Look at this little boy that I got for $295 in adoption fees from the Humane Society. He’s my best friend.
I think there are a million things there to unpack.
I don’t think any mother who wants to murder her children in cold blood is being restrained solely by the potential consequences. That’s not really how a criminal psychology works in any case.
Criminal consequences (for violent crime) don’t really exist as a deterrent, they exist as a civilizational buffer. It’s for law-abiding citizens to have confidence that the system is functional.
When criminals don’t get appropriate sentences, the system demonstrates it is non-functional, and trust begins to erode.
But on that same hand, when the system blatantly disregards the safeguards that were put in place to protect people (such as NGRIs, jury trials, proper investigations, etc), that also demonstrates it is non-functional and will also erode trust.
So it’s a fine line. And we can debate over the misuse of NGRIs, yes, because I think there is a LOT to be said there and we’d probably agree on most of it.
But back to the point - the way some men on this site are acting (Molymeme included) is as though only women kill their kids, that only women get NGRIs, that women need some sort of collective punishment for Clancy, or that Clancy is indicative of a broader trend in female criminality and that’s simply not true.
Not a single piece of data supports it. And that’s what I reminded you of.
Men kill their kids more often than women do. Male killers get NGRIs overwhelmingly more often than women do. Hell, there was a man who just got an NGRI for strangling his kid to death.
This hysteria over Clancy isn’t based in some sort of realistic trend, it’s an ideologically opportunistic whataboutism.
Much like with the “Z0MG female pedo teachers” issue (which isn’t supported by the data either, more male teachers rape their students than female teachers by an order of magnitude), it is a curated, manufactured hysteria men enjoy clinging on to in the fantasy that women are “just as bad” if not “worse” than men. Or that women have become collectively morally “corrupted” in some dramatic way and this corruption means (insert retarded homosexual platitude about taking women’s rights away here).
But facts don’t care about your feelings. 🌝
Women aren’t “as bad” as men and never will be. It’s one of the key differences of the sexes. And if you believe women deserve collective punishment for the bad behavior of a single female killer, then you have absolutely no right to whine over those evil FemiNiztZ who judge men collectively for the behavior of a far, far, far greater number of far, far, far more evil men.
The hysterics over Clancy are just that - hysterics. Men in absolute hysterics. Even by just posting clear, unbiased statistics I was accused of wanting to murder kids or making excuses for murdering kids - neither of which I did.
This case isn’t about facts anymore. Not a single man on my tl with loud opinions on murdering Clancy in vengeance has demonstrated he actually knows a single thing about the facts of the case itself.
It’s certainly not about the dead children.
It’s a clicks cudgel for bros who want Clancy to be the representation of every problem they have with women in general.
And I know this is long enough but I’ll conclude: it’s funny how this could have been a fantastic opportunity to push against SSRIs/psych meds and the evils of the psych industry, which the right is supposed to be more level-headed on than the left, but they flushed the chance because they hate women more.
Querido Apple, el iPod necesita volver. No por nostalgia. Por los padres que quieren que sus hijos amen la música y los audiolibros sin un navegador, redes sociales y todo el internet adherido a ello.
i will never forget in a grad school counseling class two girls did a presentation using this lyric video as an example of bad messaging for kids re: accountability and i was in the back row having the time of my life 😂😂
CHEF HERE, here are some helpful tips below. Washing alone is NOT enough to kill this parasite, must be cooked. Also shopping at your local farmers market is safer but not 100% in the clear
@Streamqueen486 it's so good! the best kind of b-movie, sincerity and cheese and over-the-top moments in the best balance. it gets my heart rate up every time 😭
CRAWL was released 7 years ago today.
One of the most underrated thrillers. Alexandre Aja turns a simple survival premise into 90 mins of relentless tension, proving giant alligators & a flooded house are more than enough to keep the adrenaline flowing.
