Over the past week, I’ve been brought into serious conversations with other tournament organizers and influential people who care deeply about competitive gaming. What started as frustration across the scene is beginning to turn into something much bigger.
Collaborations are forming.
New ideas are being developed.
And there are opportunities on the table that I genuinely believe could elevate this scene beyond where it has ever been.
I can’t share details yet… but I will say this:
The future of The Finals esports is not smaller.
It’s bigger.
My goal is still to resume THG in April. Just know that while things may seem quiet publicly, important work is happening behind the scenes, and you’ll be hearing more very soon.

Let me preface this statement with a very important distinction. I’m not going anywhere. The Heist Games will continue, and I’m working hard with the other TOs to keep this as quick and effective as possible.
After serious consideration, I have decided to pause all upcoming Heist Games tournaments until further notice.
Recent allegations within the competitive scene, and the way the resulting bans and decisions were handled, have raised significant concerns for me. These remain allegations, and I am not in a position to determine guilt. However, when accusations involving harassment or abuse arise, they require a response that is thorough, transparent, and clearly communicated.
From my perspective, the process surrounding these events did not provide the level of visible investigation, clarity, or accountability that this community deserves. The uncertainty that followed has damaged trust among players and organizers.
At the same time, this situation has highlighted deeper structural concerns I have with the current RFI framework. In its present form, RFI centralizes significant authority without offering clear standards, consistent enforcement mechanisms, or meaningful collaboration with grassroots organizers. When decisions that directly affect leagues and players can be implemented without transparent reasoning or dialogue, it creates instability for everyone involved.
Because of these concerns (both in how recent events were handled and in the broader structure of RFI) am not comfortable continuing to operate events, RFI or otherwise, as if everything is normal.
This pause is not about hostility or drama. It is about principle.
I believe competitive ecosystems must be built on:
•Transparent investigative processes
•Clear and consistent enforcement standards
•Open communication with organizers
•Respect for the grassroots communities that built the scene
I care deeply about this community and the players who make it special. My goal is to see these issues addressed constructively so that I can confidently resume hosting tournaments as soon as possible. I genuinely hope this pause is temporary and that we can return stronger, with clearer standards and restored trust across the scene.

Some thoughts on RFI and Embarks role at a critical point in time.
In addition: it is worth remembering with all the doomposting that in reality, the majority of players, community staff, and Embark are actually good, normal people. There is a good timeline that we can achieve.
We are thrilled to have @RioShouts joining us to cast for The Heist Games.
Here's a little bit about Rio:
I’m Rio, a shoutcaster and host who’s been involved in The Finals competitive scene since its early days. I’ve worked across grassroots tournaments and major events, including casting the Grand Major. In every cast, I bring my game knowledge, high-energy play-by-play, and a community first approach. My goal is always to elevate the show while spotlighting the players, teams, and moments that define the scene.
