Outside St. Mary’s Major in Rome, Jim and Margann Wilhelm from Miami grew emotional as they spoke with CBS News’ @NorahODonnell about Pope Francis’ legacy of compassion — especially his focus on migrants, a mission that has deeply shaped their own lives. https://t.co/HiBkDAnQMc
@TexasTribune@nytimes With all due respect, It’s not just a Maverick County problem. It’s a statewide problem. Judicial reform needs to happen.

@MayraFlores4TX Come on, Myra. We live in Texas, where Republicans have controlled the state government for nearly 30 years. If affordability is the issue, maybe it’s time to look at who’s really in charge. The biggest challenge to affordable housing? School taxes—governed by the state.
What started as breakfast at Las Cabañitas Buffet turned into a perfect getaway for us.
We shopped at HEB and the local membership club.
Lunch at Porfirio’s. (Lamb chops)
SENTRI lane got us home in 5 mins (vs. 4-5 hr lines).
Living in Eagle Pass = the best of the US & Mexico!
Sailing enthusiasts, take note! Forget smooth sailing—Governor Abbott’s obstacle course awaits! Just be prepared to navigate a maze of new buoys & concertina wire. Who needs open waters when you’ve got this level of excitement right here on the border?
We have more visitors coming in today. It appears no locals are invited. I hope they are coming with solutions and not just pointing fingers………. again.

Shelby Park.
The park is owned and maintained by the City of Eagle Pass. It was created using FEMA funds after the area was cleared of homes and businesses following flooding in 1998 and named for Confederate Gen Joseph O. Shelby, who fled to Mexico through Eagle Pass in 1865.
It's important to share the local perspective and highlight the realities of daily life in Eagle Pass. Community voices can offer a more nuanced understanding amid media coverage.
