Abdul El-Sayed on Hasan Piker: “I think we gotta stop with the cancel culture. When we play as if the whole person can be reduced down to a single soundbite that you took out of context, you’re not dealing with real life. There are a lot of things he says that I deeply agree with. People deserve healthcare, we shouldn’t be fighting dumb wars, the war in Iran is ridiculous, Donald Trump is a fascist. All true. There are things he said I disagree with. There are things he’s said he now disagrees with. The whole discourse is intended to confuse and distract us from the actual issues”
If Bernie’s Social Security bill is signed into law, Social Security would be solvent for 75 years, benefits would go up by $2,400, 91% of Americans would not pay a penny more in taxes and the wealthy would finally pay their fair share by scrapping the cap on all taxable income.
OKAY SOUTH CAROLINA HERE IS YOUR CHOICE
Option 1- a woman who actually graduated from med school and is a professor of pediatrics at USC
Option 2- a woman who's only qualification is that her brother once held the job
Doesn't seem like that hard of a choice
The "spooky Muslim Mayor" that Republicans frantically warned you about just opened a playground in two weeks after a kid asked him to. He is getting shit done.
All Mayor Mamdani does is govern... and win.
He's more effective than most.
And it's driving MAGA insane.
Texas AG Ken Paxton tried to use the WNBA to boost his attacks on James Talarico.
Instead, WNBA player and Texas native Brianna Turner responded by proudly endorsing Talarico: “Texas is in need of new and improved leadership!!” https://t.co/IOW2yUNpWh
REMINDER: In just five years, Congress will have to either take action or allow a 22% Social Security benefit cut to go into effect.
U.S. SENATORS ELECTED THIS YEAR WILL VOTE ON SOCIAL SECURITY’S FUTURE.
According to Social Security’s Board of Trustees, the $2.6 trillion trust fund will be spent by 2032.
Trump’s disastrous policies accelerated this drain on Social Security’s resources.
To course correct, we can cut benefits by 20% or make billionaires pay their fair share!
If you voted for the Big Beautiful Bill, please don’t get on here and express righteous indignation that the debt is now $40 trillion. Anyone with a room temperature IQ knew that cutting taxes and increasing spending was going to balloon the deficit.
Okay, check this out.
It is statistically true that 10 of the last 11 U.S. recessions began under Republican presidents.
My question is, how in the hell do they keep getting elected?
.@ChuckGrassley Senator, you’ve been in Congress since 1975 and in the Senate since 1981, when the national debt was about $533 billion. It is now over $40 trillion.
Before Reagan, the top individual tax rate was 70% and the top corporate rate was 46%.
Today, thanks to Republicans, profitable large corporations pay an average effective rate of only 9% after Trump’s corporate tax cut.
Billionaires live off stock, capital gains, and loans against their assets, while giant corporations hire accountants to make taxable income disappear.
Meanwhile, the federal minimum wage has been stuck at $7.25 since 2009. Working people pay taxes straight out of every paycheck.
You voted for the Iraq War. You backed decades of tax cuts tilted toward corporations and the wealthy. You helped build the debt, then point to it as an excuse to attack healthcare, retirement, housing, childcare, and every other program that helps ordinary Americans.
Clinton left office with an actual surplus. Every Republican president since Reagan has increased the deficit, largely through tax cuts for the wealthy and unfunded wars.
Obama's debt came mostly from responding to the 2008 financial crisis, one that began under Bush's watch and two unfunded wars.
Biden's came mostly from continuing the same COVID emergency response from Trump with the U.S. economy in free fall in January 2021 when he took office and global inflation.
Trump alone has personally added $11.6 trillion across one and half term, more than any president in history.
The debt did not come from working people wanting too much. It came from Washington cutting revenue for the powerful, financing wars on credit, and refusing to make the beneficiaries pay their share. Don’t blame “socialism” for a debt crisis you helped create.
If it wasn't for Republicans our nation would've been debt free.
Republican Senator Rick Scott built a fortune running the company that committed, at the time, the largest health care fraud in American history, then walked away with roughly ten million dollars in cash, three hundred million dollars in stock, and a cushy consulting deal while his company pleaded guilty to fourteen felonies and paid one point seven billion dollars in fines. He pleaded the Fifth Amendment seventy five times under oath and never faced a single criminal charge. Now he’s Trump’s guy who sits in the United States Senate writing health care policy and lecturing the country about Medicare fraud.
You can’t make this stuff up.
Here’s what you need to know…

It took a Depression and a world war to unite America behind FDR’s New Deal. Let’s not wait while we see an AI revolution with staggering inequality.
America’s next New Deal: tax the billionaires, Medicare for All, rebuild industry for every community.
