@so_menmann@b_wildkiss10@chainso_men what she is saying is that there is an issue with where you naturally position your crosshair, and that playing Moira causes you to develop a bad habit of relying on aim assist.
@BigKoalaFan@mick_kha_eel to the powerful, politics is a matter of personal grudges because the actual substantive effects of politics dont actually reach them. to the non-powerful, politics is always directionless because it affects them from all-sides. so of course billy is directionless and vin has...
@BigKoalaFan@mick_kha_eel but, at the same time, it's only written this way to discredit his anger to begin with, because he's "whining" and his anger is invalid. his anger is valid and he's searching for his reason, i think that's kind of why he's in the ritual.
@BigKoalaFan@mick_kha_eel yeah for sure. i just believe that it's okay for people to be angry and not know why, it's kind of the human condition. and its okay to try to find "the reason" why you are angry even if you project that anger along the way. obviously billy's conduct is unreasonable...
@BigKoalaFan@mick_kha_eel sure i agree but it's a similar case. ivy is a being of seemingly boundless good-will and who happens to have actual powers that do manifestly good things. not that this is bad but billy just being randomly mean to her is valve's way of discrediting billy, which i criticise.
@BigKoalaFan@mick_kha_eel when I said "not at all how the real world actually works", i didn't mean under the matter than vindicta is a superhuman sniper, but just that political change doesn't occur this way, even if there were such a being.
@BigKoalaFan@mick_kha_eel what i'm really saying is, despite how awkward or how much of a poser or how mean billy is, he is far more politically meaningful than vindicta is, he is far more representative of revolution. vindicta is just a spirit with a morally-acceptable grudge
@mick_kha_eel every time I say stuff like this, I'm not arguing about game lore, I'm directly critiquing the pseudo-political writing of deadlock. so it doesn't particularly matter to me if vindicta *happens* to be doing a "good thing" or if billy is written to say something unnecessarily mean
@mick_kha_eel i agree, vindicta paints a very "clean" form of ideology where the supernatural flying ultimate sniper slowly picks off the super evil bad guys. she, in no way, represents or aids a greater revolutionary movement. billy is much more representative of the masses.
@BigKoalaFan@mick_kha_eel only works if you take everything on face-value and don't like thinking for yourself. it's easy to just spit insert obviously morally-good character voicelines and let the writers do the thinking for you. or you could have your own opinion that isn't just a vindicta voiceline
@DiamondZeeb@mick_kha_eel@thepichugger@belosania@OfficerChunkles nah i think it's okay to be angry. i think a lot of social change has often been people who are angry without direction tearing shit up and coming to understand what made them angry in the aftermath. the game presents a very clean idea of revolution (vin) and billy spits on it
