@thebestgay91 @Sammy_Sussman@nyphil They were very publicly fired and the union forced the Phil to reinstate them. It’s likely that they could do it again in a more watertight way—orchestra CBAs usually have some means of expelling people for such conduct and they were reinstated because they didn’t follow it.
@lemniscatProd@esapekkasalonen@yugacohler People often play off scores in complex chamber music. Unfortunately a C score makes it impossible (or at least really, really, really annoying) for clarinetists and wastes valuable rehearsal time. A transposed score should be provided.
@esapekkasalonen@yugacohler This came up this week—our clarinetist couldn’t play from C scores because he’d have to sight transpose bass clarinet parts up a ninth. Our group agreed that a composer only providing a C score for chamber works seemed to lack knowledge of how these scores are used.
@metalupis@quendergeer@postoctobrist He’s an orchestra conductor who works in multiple cities, it’s common for them to own a home in each city they have a position in (in this case he’s rumored to be principal guest at SF Ballet and music director at Nashville ballet)
@MBTA only one of them accepts charlietickets i think, since they mostly have the tap readers only now. it’s toward the left side of the entrance on the east side of mass ave. other riders seemed to indicate it’s been this way for a while. thanks!
@MBTA charlietickets don’t work at Hynes, please fix, luckily a kind person helped me jump the turnstile today and I caught my train but this shouldn’t be an issue
@Evan_Ausbrooks @katscrap3@SouthwestAir can’t you board with family boarding after A group, virtually guaranteeing one or even two whole rows together?
@transmenaces Keep typing r! I remember being confused and having to check the documentation for that one, I think a higher number of Rs in a row makes it a smaller rest? If that’s not working make sure you have ligatures turned on in your program!
EVERYONE SHOULD BE WRITING THEIR OWN CADENZAS, THAT WAS THE WHOLE DAMN POINT OF CADENZAS, STOP PLAYING OTHER PEOPLE'S CADENZAS, COMPOSITION IS FOR ALL MUSICIANS, NO EXCEPTIONS
@CatanUniverse just tweeted at the official Catan account but how’s the colorblind mode coming along? I literally have to ask my friends whose pieces are whose.
