PIC BOARD SUSPENDS CEO

The Public Investment Corporation (PIC) has placed chief executive Patrick Dlamini on precautionary suspension after nine of its eleven board members voted in favour of the decision.

The decision follows a governance dispute linked to the Lanseria Airport investment and allegations surrounding the appointment of PwC to conduct a forensic investigation without board approval.

Dlamini also faces a R900-million damages claim related to the matter.

The suspension is not a finding of guilt, but comes as the PIC faces increasing scrutiny over governance and investment decisions.
