Here's Ridwan Abdilahi getting pulled over in Bishopsgate for riding through a red light. He apologises but then tries to escape before he's nicked by City of London cops https://t.co/gh4648SEXb
It is with deep and profound sadness that West Ham United announces the passing of legendary former goalkeeper and coach, Luděk Mikloško.
Rest in peace Luděk, our beloved, inspirational goalkeeper and gentle giant of a man.
Taxi Now Group is launching Cabs Into Camden — a formal campaign to reverse the licensed taxi exclusion on Tottenham Court Road.
Every licensed London taxi is legally required to be wheelchair accessible. Tottenham Court Road’s exclusion removes the only fully accessible transport option from one of London’s busiest streets, all day, every day.
Here’s what that actually costs. Under the Equality Act 2010, we cannot refuse a wheelchair passenger.
Take a wheelchair passenger from the bottom of Tottenham Court Road up to University College Hospital at the top — a journey that should run straight up one road. We can’t do that. We’re forced to route around the exclusion zone entirely, turning a direct trip into a detour. That’s extra time, extra distance, extra fare — charged to a passenger who, by law, has no choice but to travel with us.
We’re also asking for the no-left-turn from Tottenham Court Road into Euston Road to be reversed — another restriction adding unnecessary detours to already accessible-only journeys.
Bank Junction faced the same exclusion for 7 years. City of London reversed it in 2024 — accessibility, safety record, and the fleet’s shift to zero-emission all factored in. The same case applies here, arguably more so.
This isn’t new to us — restricted area access has been part of our manifesto since we launched, alongside VAT and vehicle choice.
We’re writing formally to Camden Council and the Mayor’s office this week.
Time for Infantino to go.
He's not fit for purpose nor is the organisation he runs.
Recinding a red card by a head of state, extortion of loyal fans via ticket prices both are reason enough for him to be gone.
Time for change.
Time for transparency.
Time for players, fans and the next generation to be prioritised.
InfantiNO.
Cape Verde was a great story. Truly great. But 2 weeks after, football doesn't give a fuck, less so after 1, 2 or 4 years.
If Mauritius, Mozambique, Mali do the same, great, but for 99% of fans, 99% of the time, across the world, nobody cares.
If France, Italy, Germany, England, Spain, Netherlands, Portugal boycott a World Cup, it's automatically invalid. It's just the truth.
Likewise, a club World Cup without any of Europe's top 25 clubs is invalid. Nobody is watching Inter Miami v Boca Juniors except in markets that simply don't generate revenue or global interest.
UEFA should immediately take over global law making ( UEFA replace FIFA 4 votes in a new IFAB with the 4 home nations continuing holding the other 4 votes).
Europe has paid football's bills for 150 years. It does not need to vote for a man in an island of 100,000 to hold the game to random because FIFA are giving him 20 mil.
I'm half English, half Barbadian. One has paid its football dues, the other hasn't, so the other cannot and must not hold the balance of power.
When two thirds of football nations fill their stadiums, support grassroots football, create a pyramid, have women's teams, find kids, then their vote is equal to a European powerhouse.
Not a day before.
Time for UEFA to secede from FIFA
FIFA needs UEFA. UEFA doesn't need FIFA.

This is shocking on multiple levels.
A Freedom of Information request revealed that 158 individuals granted private hire licences had prior convictions for violent offences. In addition, 61 had drug-related convictions, 36 had drink-driving offences, and 4 had sexual offence convictions.
Overall, the FOI showed that 438 licences were issued to individuals with criminal records in the last year alone.
Further concern arises from reporting by @carolinegall1, which conflates taxi drivers with private hire drivers. These licences were granted to minicab drivers, not licensed taxi drivers - an important distinction that risks diverting attention from what is increasingly being highlighted as a very serious issue.

This might well be correct, but what the trade needs to really evaluate, is whether they are prepared for this type of corporate to discount the work, as well as charge high commissions?
The cost index is designed to ensure that the driver is earning a living wage after the cost of running a vehicle has been deducted.
If fares are discounted before commission is charged, a double whammy, then clearly the driver has to work longer hours because the corporate is prepared to sell their labour below the rate required to maintain the vehicle and provide a living wage.
Drivers need to consider whether the short-term gain is worth the long-term pain because if a large number are prepared to work below meter and pay commission, then we cannot see a future for the cost index, as it would have been undermined by the marketplace.
We are signing drivers and passengers to the app every day, however, please do not lose sight of the fact that we have only been operating for two months.
