We absolutely loved @OrdinaryMusical last night, powerful and moving in equal measure. Good luck to the cast and crew for the final shows at @hopemilltheatr1! 👏
SNEAK PEEK! You have just over a week to get your tickets to see @kate_landy and the rest of our stunning cast at the @HopeMilltheatr1 in this new musical about #MentalHealthAwareness. https://t.co/1e0NIIIJ5F
Another fab idea by @ScarlettMaltman and @cathyreadUK - a lovely way to put a positive spin on the incredibly difficult issue of mental health in the arts 🌥
We have some news...
To celebrate 1 year this is what we have decided to do. To ensure we constantly recognise, grow, build and support one another & mental health in the arts.
Voting is now open via link in bio!
Thank you @GivernyMasso@TheStage ❤️
https://t.co/7mnSM19mKY The pressure to maintain a certain body type can put huge strain on a performer’s mental health, no matter their gender. It’s great to see conversations like this happening!
Another group of performers in training better equipped to deal with the challenges of the arts industry thanks to @sophielinderlee workshop and YOUR support 🙌
This kind of recruitment practice is so completely unnecessary! Making auditionees’ lives harder for NO valid reason is incredibly irresponsible in terms of potential impact on their welfare.
This week’s TALK meet up is tomorrow (19 March), 5.30-6.30pm, at @theActorsCentre. Come join in the conversation. Discussing all things to do with the industry. #support
We have very happy hearts.
We would like to thank everyone who came to support us tonight, to our amazing panelists, to everyone who donated goodies for our bags, to @madedotcom for hosting us, @aimeelouisebarrett for giving us this opportunity with @bumble#INDUSTRYMINDSLIVE
An uplifting story of those within the theatre listening, caring and supporting each other. A reminder for us all to take the time to do the same if we can. #WomenOfWaitress
"We had drinks after work, she talked through her issues, and after a while we made her laugh. Hopefully she was able to face the next day with a bit more positivity. I think a lot of the time it’s just listening to someone that is a big help." (6/7)
A teacher at drama school told me I was an absolute bitch and that no-one would ever hire me- at 19yo it almost broke me. About 8 years later after I'd become a Musical Director, I auditioned him for a show. He almost shat his pants when he saw me behind the table. Be nice, kids.
Highlight of my career so far;
A woman and her husband on the tube platform recognise me from the show and so she steps forward and her husband steps back and ‘slyly’ takes a photo of her with me in the background.
I USED TO BE THAT GUY AND NOW IM THAT GUY.
Life, made.
