As a US citizen, who explores poverty in China, all the time, I believe that US homelessness is a far more serious threat to the lives of those in the USA, than rural borderline poverty in China.

For one, China is actively alleviating, and providing remedy for poverty in China, whereas US homeless people are treated as a blight, where their tent villages are regularly demolished like a moving nightmare.
