When Walter Benjamin had a son in 1918 he fell in love with old fashioned children's books. This is one of his favorites from his collection. It's a late 19th century German book called "The Magical
Red Umbrella," with psychedelic illustrations worthy of Henry Darger.
I have a new poem in @corditepoetry's 'No Theme' - as chosen by Chris Tse and Joel Toledo. Thrilled that this poem about types of brokenness spoke to them. Link below if you'd like to have a read:

@kathscadding It's a bill, like a toucan! Early explorers noted similarities to the (unrelated) Asian and African hornbills. On the Channel-billed, male bills range from 82-91 mms and females from 69-80 mms, so it's bit of a honker, or a proud profile - to use more 'positive' descriptors :)
Heard the first channel billed cuckoo calling this morning. The local birds were louder than usual, alarm cries in the pre-dawn. These birds are the B-52s of the bird world #cuckootime#birdwars
I have been moving, and I found my old Far Side books underneath the bed. If you are my age or thereabouts, nearly 25% are instantly memorable, nay legendary. It's the greatest single-panel strip of all time. But I think this might be the best of all, and if I'm wrong prove it.
Although there have been discussions & articles about Project 2025, VERY FEW focus specifically on Trump's plans for Black Americans
That's why I read all 922 pages of #Project2025 as well as #Agenda47

I’m not sure if people realise just how much of a crackdown there has been on protesting in this country.
49 anti-protest laws in two decades. An insane amount of penalties for people who engage in peaceful protest.

New gas mega-projects being approved by Australian Governments are some of the largest new fossil project in the world.
Emissions from Woodside's Burrup Hub alone will will be greater than all Australia's coal power stations, making Australia hotter, drier and more fire prone. 10/10
Last fall at the Henry Miller Library in Big Sur our show was rained out. The sky cleared just as dusk fell & someone said: let’s go into the forest. So in a grove of redwoods we played a few songs for the hermit thrushes and spotted owls. Watch now: https://t.co/NuZxYD8tUK
ARC were amazing during the 2019-20 fires. Koalas needing crates: these guys, wombats needing food: the ARC. Crocheted nests? Also here. They provide vital, ongoing support to rescuers to help them help animals. If you can, please consider: https://t.co/0B38ICHwWR #supportthearc
Non-stop genocidal propaganda, lies, and hysteria not over the 15,000 children murdered, not over the babies starved to death, not the doctors assassinated, the hospitals destroyed, nor beheaded Arab kids, but over slogans and keffiyehs and graffiti.
We’re deeply saddened to hear of Steve Albini’s passing and keep his family in our hearts. Thank you for all that you contributed to punk rock in our town and the reverberations of creativity you brought forth, felt the world over.
Something extraordinary has occurred today & the heart & mind can hardly hold it. Deeply honoured to see #MoonWrasse (@PuncherWattmann) alongside these exceptional titles in the Kenneth Slessor Prize for Poetry 2024 #NSWPLA shortlist. Congratulations to all ✨
