JUST IN: UP CLOSE VIDEO SHOWS HOW HACKERS STOLE OVER $80,000,000 SILENTLY CORRUPTING LEDGER #BITCOIN WALLETS
A SCAM SHOP IN MALAYSIA WAS LISTED AS AN "OFFICIAL AUTHORIZED RESELLER FOR YEARS"
BEHIND THE SCENES, CRIMINALS WERE INSERTING MICROSCOPIC SPY CHIPS ON EVERY WALLET
THEY REPACKAGED THE DEVICE AND SHIPPED IT TO UNSUSPECTING VICTIMS
ALL THE WHILE IT WAS SILENTLY CAPTURING THEIR PRIVATE KEYS
THIS IS WILD ‼️
The new Volkswagen ID. Tiguan features a dashboard that looks like the one in my old VW Caddy.
We’ve come full circle. From spaceship-style dashboards back to simple analog-looking dials.
@bentossell It can generate code and fix small issues, but in a relatively large codebase, it tends to lose context. So you ask it to fix one thing, and it might break three others.
Let your app choose the right model, tool, or action in near real-time with Decisions API, now available to all developers in public beta.
The Decisions API makes decisions up to 10x faster than GPT-6 Luna through the Responses API.
@drbarnard Duo breaks a lot of good old UX patterns. For example, placing all navigation, buttons, and status information on one side creates a huge cognitive load.
Facebook, an absolute evil when it comes to user data and privacy, is trying to buy us with a cute little AI avatar to get access to our daily workflows?
Okay, I’m in!
Breaking: Michael Burry says OpenAI and Anthropic are faking the AI warnings due to slow growth ahead of IPOs
Below are his reasonings:
1. LLMs are not AI and won't be AGI. There is nothing AI to slow down.
2. Competition is coming up fast, slowing benefits incumbents.
3. IPOs need hype & puffery; "we are so awesome it could become dangerous" is hype & puffery
4. Cover for real uncontrollable slowing growth as IPOs look to be pushed out
We may already be living in the “Dead Internet Theory” reality.
AI-generated content, comments and posts are everywhere. So far, social media platforms have approached this from one direction: identify synthetic content and label it “Made with AI”.
But what if we flip the problem? Instead of marking what’s artificial, mark what’s real.
Apple introduced Apple Reference Image technology. The camera securely signs sensor data at the pixel level at the moment of capture, creating an unalterable reference of what the camera actually saw.
Imagine an Instagram where you can choose to post only verified, camera-captured photos. Or a dating app where profile photos can carry a “Verified Original” badge. Or marketplaces, journalism, insurance, reviews, citizen reporting.
Over the last few years, tech figured out how to generate almost anything. Now we might need to spend the next few figuring out how to prove something is real. I think there’s a whole new market hiding in that problem.
4. There are some interesting new hardware APIs.
Apps can react to hinge status and continuously track the folding angle. Apple has also put a lot of thought into handling multiple displays and cameras. The seamless switching between the two front-facing cameras is a particularly nice touch.
If you have an iOS app, iPhone Duo might break more things than you expect 🚨
Apple just released new tutorials on how to prepare your apps for iPhone Duo.
I watched them, and a few things stood out:
3. We now have ArrangementView.
It lets you define primary and secondary views and automatically rearrange them based on screen size, orientation, aspect ratio, and the fold.
There are split and overlay arrangements, so two views can go from side-by-side to top-and-bottom or foreground/background depending on how the phone is being used.
