@hyperlendx@AcrossProtocol cross chain lending without the extra bridge step is genuinely underrated. how many chains does across actually route into hyperlend right now
Crypto projects spent a record ~$638M on token buybacks in 2026 so far — with Hyperliquid and https://t.co/SvSEbehB23 accounting for nearly 90% of that total.
Hyperliquid routes 99% of eligible trading fees directly into buying and permanently burning HYPE — $1.3B eliminated since December 2024.
A direct link between protocol revenue and token supply, at a scale most projects can't match.

The nuance here matters: Hyperliquid's buyback is backed by real, sustained fee revenue — not just token price appreciation. That's the difference between a durable mechanism and a temporary demand spike.

Crypto protocols have already spent $638M buying back their own tokens this year.
But almost 90% came from just two names: Hyperliquid and PumpFun.
That makes this less of an industry-wide shift than the headline suggests.
Hyperliquid alone has put roughly $370M behind HYPE, while PumpFun has added nearly $200M. Both have also massively outperformed the broader market this year.
What I find more interesting is the mechanism: revenue is starting to matter for token economics.
But a buyback only becomes meaningful if the underlying protocol keeps generating enough cash to sustain it.
Otherwise, you are just creating temporary demand.
Are we finally moving toward crypto tokens being valued on actual cash generation?
Worth the precision: this is share within the HIP-4 category specifically (prediction markets on Hyperliquid) — not "beating Hyperliquid" as a platform. Different claim than the headline suggests.

Ecosystem spotlight: Unit XYZ, a tokenization protocol built on Hyperliquid, announced last week it's planning to boost its HYPE holdings to 1 million tokens (~$15M at the time).
That's a meaningful institutional-style bet on the ecosystem it's built on — not just holding, actively acquiring more.

Ecosystem spotlight: Reap, a global fintech under Payward, launched direct USDC funding support on Hyperliquid this month.
Clients can generate a Hyperliquid wallet address inside Reap and fund cards and payments directly — no routing through other exchanges or wallets first.

The $1.2B HYPE unlock landed Aug 29 as expected — 14.18M tokens, the largest since launch.
The split: 46.6% went to insiders and early investors, 46.3% to the community. Past unlocks usually skewed more toward community — this one didn't.
