Toward Multi(radio)metalated DNA: Enzymatic Polymerization of Metal‐Chelate‐Modified dNTPs.... https://t.co/qXtHnwCVbX With gratitude to reviewers and long-time collaborator F. Benard, pleased to share work of Antonio A. Wong in ACIE; hopefully the start of multi-metal labeling.
Pleased to disclose the first total synthesis of Orbiculamide A is now sealed in the synthetic record - a second "first" for the Perrin lab | Organic Letters https://t.co/FzuzgpViqy
With gratitude to reviewers, we are thrilled to report on a new type of hybrid drug: Baited SELEX: Drug-Directed Selection of Aptamers to PSMA for In Vivo Targeting of Prostate Cancer in Mice https://t.co/LusaluC1ND @PCR_news@BeatPCa@prostatecanada@PCFNews@AptamerSociety
Interested by 3D modified aptamers? Then check out our recent article by undergraduate student Charlotte and postdoc Usman.

@perrinlab has developed a single-injection “dual-mode” tracer that combines PET imaging and fluorescence to help surgeons detect prostate cancer more precisely.

Versatile Bifunctional PYTA Derivatives for 225Ac labeling...https://t.co/whi4AlvGD9 Now obvious: chelating 223Ra using Macropa with the electroneutral para-amide linker to PSMA, as opposed to an EWG-thiourea link reported in Abou et al. #CancerTreatment#nuclearmedicine#PSMA
To distract everyone from the devastating NIH news, I recommend reading this Mirror Image Life discussion in Science magazine https://t.co/d3fE2tthux or popular press https://t.co/eEasWsa0OT and our view on this topic: TLDR: do not forget about Glycans! https://t.co/OnINCCkJlW
Is mirror life really a risk? https://t.co/5NHpZ51vGj To be clear: no one has come even close to creating life on "this side of the mirror", let alone on "the other side". Until someone synthesizes life de-novo, starting on "our side of the mirror", we don’t need to worry.
Were mirror life to emerge, achiral antibiotics: ciprofloxacin, clofazimine, afabicin, trichlosan (to name a few) will be effective against mirror bugs. Same goes for antibiotics sold racemically e.g. ofloxacin.
@JCVenterInst hmmm...what if you gave the enantiomer of penicillin? Trichlosan, which has no stereocenters is likely to be equally effective. How does mirror life escape mirror drugs, which we all know how to synthesize? Or if you're unsure of the nature, prescribe a racemate.
Excited to report (with gratitude to the reviewers) on a large manifold of linchpin peptide stapling reagents, some brilliantly fluorescent, all of which work on native peptides at Chemical Science: https://t.co/tVrUsOV8by #peptides
