Manny should have been named the Canucks coach last year but it actually worked in Malhotra’s favour.
He’s in a far better position now with a chance of longevity coming in under the Sedin & RJ era instead of having to deal with Hughes inevitable departure

Just to be clear they wanted experience & werent keen on hiring Johnson.
To internally promoting both the sedins & RJ.
Trying to wrap my head around this because other than firing Allvin & Rutherford stepping back the front office just got even less experienced & lighter.
Ryan Johnson could be a perfectly good hire.
But I think Gold represents a chance for real change. Someone who could come in and nuke everything. I think there’s a big appetite for that.
RJ feels like the same lineage that got this team into this terrible spot.
Sure sounds like Gold wanted to make big changes in basically all the departments and then bring in his own people.
Did ownership not want to pay people not to work for them AND then give the new people raises to get out of their current situation?
Wouldn't have been cheap.
