Jenson Button, 2020: "[Lewis] does not play games. He will never play dirty. In fact, I think he’s the cleanest guy I ever raced against."
Lando Norris, 2024: "There's always guys you give extra meters, and there's guys you know you can race well and Lewis is one of those guys."
David Coulthard, 2024: "Lewis actually has done it in a very, let's say, uncontroversial way. He's a very clean racer."
David Coulthard, 2026: "Of the four, Schumacher, Hamilton, Senna, Verstappen, arguably Lewis is the least controversial on track, which should be acknowledged of course."
Luciano Burti, 2021: "By the way I think when you compare Hamilton with other great champions, like Senna and Schumacher, he is the cleanest of these guys."
Etc.
Lewis Hamilton will have 400 grand prix starts before the end of this season. The same 2 or 3 moments, maybe 5 at a stretch, in FOUR HUNDRED races are recycled online by people who've never raced in F1, to deem him a "dirty driver" but they don't change objectively staggering evidence and history of the contrary or stand up to opinions of drivers who've actually raced him.
"when racing is eventually over, what do you hope people remember about you beyond the results you achieved?"
LN: "that i was honest. that i showed you can talk about doubt and pressure and still get to the top, and that being human isn’t a weakness in this sport. if some kid somewhere saw me struggle publicly and win anyway and thought, 'ok, maybe i don’t have to pretend either,' that would mean a lot."
Not only is Lando Norris a worthy world champion in the sporting sense but he’s a great role model world champion for F1 to have too.
Today was proof of that.
@formularacers_ lando by far the driver that’s moved me the most this year
his confidence and mentality since last year is chefs kiss by far now the best driver of the season
@leclercakgae no one is asking him to be bottas but when during the race you are clearly slower and expected to pit, why hold the other car up whether it be lewis or charles
