I thought the famine in Gaza had ended, but something that happened to me today made me realize that the reality is still far harsher than many imagine.

While I was standing at a falafel stand, a young child approached me and said, “Could you buy me some falafel and bread? I want to take it home to my family who are waiting for me.”

I was left speechless. Looking into his small face, I saw burdens far greater than his age should ever have to carry.

In what kind of world is a child forced to search for food for his family instead of living his childhood like other children around the world?

This is Gaza today… children fighting hunger, mothers waiting for a meal to feed their children, and families enduring hardships that only God truly knows.

There is nothing more painful than seeing a child ask for food for his family rather than for himself.

These days have become unbearably heavy. Many people have reached a point where they feel that death would be kinder than living through such hunger, deprivation, and suffering.

May God have mercy on the people of Gaza, ease their hardship, and bring them relief, safety, dignity, and a better future.
