Becoming better - as divorced father, failed entrepreneur, lazy athlete. Project 2094 is my journey towards a new vision for fulfilling life & business.
Tracking yourself for things that are not positive in nature is not easy ... nor pleasant. Took me some time to find a way that works.
Not saying it will work for everyone, but you may give it a shot ... link ๐
We often beat ourselves for bad habits.
But we pick up bad habits like we pick up good ones.
It's a never-ending process of improving what gets worse than optimal.
Like when pruning weeds in the garden.
You don't get worked up now because there will be some weeds next summer. And there for sure will be some.
When weeds appear, you will prune them, feel good, and move on.
No fuzz.
Think about bad habits the same way.
When you see them taking over, prune them and be proud.
And move on. No fuzz.
The second summary of the most interesting podcasts, relevant for founders and builders, I've listened to - this time with Lulu Cheng, Notion co-founders, value pricing guru ...
See for yourself it there's something you need to listen to today! ๐
There's more you can do to ensure some level of privacy while using ChatGPT but other steps also effect the level and quality of interactions you get ... so use according to your judgement:
Step 1: Turn off data usage
- Access Settings: Click on your profile icon in the bottom-left corner and select "Settings".
- Go to Data Controls: Navigate to the "Data Controls" section.
Turn off model improvement: Toggle the switch for "Improve the model for everyone" to the off position.
This prevents your conversations from being used to train the model.
Step 2: (tougher) Go to Personalization: Navigate to "Personalization".
- Disable memory: Turn off options like "Reference Saved Memories" and "Chat History & Training" to prevent the model from remembering past interactions.
- You may also want to clear any existing memory by selecting "Manage Memories" and "Delete All".
Step 3: Use temporary chats for sensitive topics
- Well, your feelings and bad habits should definitely be considered sensitive topics, and you may want to consider them a one-off conversation that you don't want saved.
- You can use "Temporary Chat" for that and use it for several days or weeks if you can.
- Click on the ChatGPT menu at the top of the page and select the "temporary chat" option.
- These chats will not appear in your history and will not be saved.
Meaning as soon as your page reloads they will be gone. And there will be zero history or interaction. It can still be useful but you won't get any of the summaries and trends.
Word of warning on this one - if you're privacy focused person you may consider doing some of these listed below when trying my suggestions - check replies for step-by-step tips
I would at least - turn off the "Improve the model for everyone" setting under Data Controls ๐

Report on a small social-distancing experiment today:
I tried to do all my metro and tram rides without headphones, just looking outside or studying folks around.
At first huge very anxious - started enjoying it a bit on like 4th ride - just to realize that itโs sooo much more pleasant with headphones on - even when nothing is playing ๐
We are truly becoming antisocial at a speed of light.
People increasingly feel that the future is hostile and uncertain.
Numbers go up every year, according to research firms like Kantar.
Can we find connections that counter this trend?
Europe would do well to follow Gates on this pivot. The EU is responsible for just 6% of global emissions, but still thinks it's saving the planet by sorting and washing trash by hand, forgoing AC, or deleting emails (lol). Climate doomerism is degrowth nonsense in a nutshell.
If you work in the productivity apps space - your only way to notably grow your customer base may be M&A.
Given the tool switching costs - anyone changing team tools now would be crazy because the speed of change and improvements is steep. Better wait for your tool to improve.
Well done @Grammarly (aka newly Superhuman)!
How much of our today's culture is shaped by:
1. Major Brands and their interests
2. Politics and its interests
3. History and grassroots efforts

Surprising development, that took time, and several boring attempts - but the new AI Agent and Custom AI Agents in @NotionHQ will push Notion back into the lead among PKM/TKM tools.
This iteration of AI agents in Notion let's you really work with all the data in your Notion space - which is the feeling you most likely had only during the first week of signing up and using it - and it can create new data, structures, and browse the internet when needed.
Everything that was hard to create, maintain, and find is now (or soon will be) a short chat away for you and your team. Impressive!
