As a generalist I've had to search hard to find jobs for me in the startup world. I don't fit the usual categories: Marketing, sales, engineering, design, product, people.
So I built this: Jobs for Generalists in Innovation, Startups and Tech

@sophwith_ I like it. It allows multiple people to interact at once -- comment, ask questions, answer questions -- in a way that you can't IRL. And lowers the barrier to asking Qs, too because you're not interrupting.
7/ So DROPLET TRANSMISSION is an error in the physical interpretation of an empirical observation...
... made and propagated by medical professionals, who do NOT study physics.
We need more interdisciplinary research across medicine, public health, physics, engineering, etc.
Too many people think a little fear is a good thing in organizations. It isn't:
😱 Fear is the enemy of innovation & employee participation
🤝If you're civil, coworkers are 59% more likely to share info, employees work 71% harder, and health & well-being receive boosts, too!
@andywingrave Yeah, I don’t have anything to add to the pronoun question. I know it’s important to some people who might reply, and wanted to point out that (in my opinion) using “but” in your replies to them might lead to a misunderstanding of your tone.
@andywingrave It’s a valid word. And it may make people feel like you have dismissed their perspective.
(Is this ironic that we are now debating and/but? “I asked a question about pronouns and now we’re arguing about conjunctions!?” 😅
@andywingrave You say “debate” here which may indicate you engage with a certain mindset. Looking at your interactions with replies, you use “but” a lot!
Are you trying to be convinced about something, or seeking to understand other peoples’ perspectives and experiences?
When valuations are down and capital markets are dried up and everyone is focused on ARR multiples but you're still a female so it's like oh did something change?
@bagelsangranola Seems like a long journey to paying, especially if your target users already see the value. Perhaps try pay upfront with an explicit cancellation and refund policy? “Refund or on-gift your membership.”
Things I did today for the first time, while preparing my tax:
1. used Javascript in Zapier 👩💻
2. used RegexExtract in Google Sheets 🪄
3. Realised I made over $500 from selling copies of The Startup Guide 🥳
@robyngallagher I worked as a barista in the late 90s/early 2000s in Australia. This is how I was trained to serve cappucinos. We had posters with silhouettes of all the espresso drinks, and a foamberg was the pinnacle of the form.
So happy to share my first first-author conference paper! I (and four brilliant collaborators: @vsetlur@WindsCogley@arvindsatya1 and Marti Hearst) found that readers prefer charts with more text and that this text has subtle and strong influences on reader takeaways. 🧵/12
