I announced today the official recognition of the Republic of Somaliland as an independent and sovereign state.
Together with Foreign Minister Sa'ar and the President of the Republic of Somaliland, we signed a joint and mutual declaration.
This declaration is in the spirit of the Abraham Accords, signed at the initiative of President Trump.
I congratulated the President of Somaliland, Dr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdallah, and praised his leadership and commitment to promoting stability and peace. I invited the President to pay an official visit to Israel.
The President thanked me for this historic declaration and expressed appreciation for my achievements in fighting terrorism and advancing regional peace.
I thank Foreign Minister Sa’ar, the Head of Mossad David Barnea and the Mossad, for their contribution to today’s development, and I wish the people of Somaliland success, prosperity, and freedom.
The State of Israel plans to immediately expand its relations with the Republic of Somaliland through extensive cooperation in the fields of agriculture, health, technology, and economy.
As H.E. President @WilliamsRuto has often affirmed, Kenya can and will transform in our lifetime. True to this conviction, his administration continues to deliver tangible change through the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
One such example of this transformation is the Phase I Meru Affordable Housing Project in Imenti North Constituency, Meru County, a development that is fast reshaping the face of urban settlement in this agriculturally vibrant region.
Launched in July 2024, the project is already 56% complete, with two residential blocks; Block A comprising 132 units and Block B with 98 units, bringing the total to 230 modern, affordable homes.
The design integrates both residential and commercial spaces, including 8 well-planned shops that will serve the new community.
On any given day, about 80 workers, most of them local youth and women, are on site. For many, this opportunity has provided them with a livelihood and sparked new enterprises in nearby markets.
Food vendors, boda boda riders, hardware suppliers and small traders are all benefitting from the renewed economic activity around the project site. It is a ripple effect that demonstrates what the President means by transforming lives from the bottom up.
It was pleasure meeting my great friends, Head of Presidential Special Projects and Blue Economy Hon. Dennis Itumbi and Secretary General of UDA Party Hon. Hassan Omar.
@JimiWanjigi My friend it's high time you should learn to respect the President.. You were there when he was being elected, give time and room for him to deliver for Kenyans...
