Good afternoon, I understand the 3.52pm Penzance to Plymouth has been permanently cancelled. When was this officially announced? I know it has attracted media attention as would run during busy school/college time. Any chance of swapping it for a lunch time service?
@GWRHelp
@GWRHelp There are only two trains that run on this line. So basically one of them has broken down. Just say it as it is, most regular users of GWR are use the regular excuses.
@SW_Help@WeaverThomas I thought after the new rules from 20th September there was no need for ticket acceptance to be in place. Passengers could use any reasonable route if their train is cancelled?
@GWRHelp There are constantly delays between Paddington and Reading. Network rail are responsible for the railway infrastructure which needs significant investment otherwise this daily occurrence will continue
@GWRHelp Good evening, there has been a notable increase in railway suicides and statically winter months are when the rates increase. Is there any work that GWR are doing with charities to try and support them, by having someone to talk to at the station?
@millsdunne@GWRHelp Not quite. Some tickets that you book in advance don't offer the advanced rate. Using the GWR rewards system is very tricky. You need to enter the code etc at the beginning page of the search rather than the end. You also need to book the journeys in one transaction.
@GWRHelp Take the train to Gatwick?! You only need to look at the journey update status each day to see this service is plagued with issues. Today a broken down train meaning cancellations upto lunch time.
@GWRHelp Another fault with the signalling in the Exeter area...there was one yesterday. Seriously its 2026, the railway infrastructure in this country is pathetic. Considering the weather today isn't extreme, there is no hope once the leaves start to fall.
@daddytimmers@GWRHelp Likely knock on impact tomorrow with additional delays due to the classic excuses of 'Shortage of Train crews' and ' more trains than usual needing repairs'
BBC stated GWR intend to cancel 5 services a day due to withdrawal of class 175 fleet. Why they were introduced in the first place without proper testing, now ultimately the customer suffers. Anyway will these services be random each day or planned in advance. Thanks
@GWRHelp
@CraigA3@SW_Help You'll only get the full amount refunded if your delay was over 60mins to your final destination. Even if your train was cancelled there could have been another train in 30mins or an alternative route. This is what they consider when working out refund
Good afternoon, are GWR still using the ex TFW 175 trains which replaced the old HST/Castle Class? The seem to brake down regularly from personal experience.
