@BCUITEChat@BCUITEChat Peter here, Art and Design Subject Leader, just joining to see how the conversation has gone. Really good stuff, I'll be advising those Art and Design trainees who weren't here to catch up with this discussion
@BCUITEChat Peter here, Art and Design Subject Leader. The live on-line demonstrations that the Art and Design trainees have done for on-line learning are excellent. We could develop our use of the technology to use more questioning and give live feedback to pupils? Any thoughts?
#BCUITEChat Not exactly an album, but Max Richter "Sleep" on BBC Radio 3, 8 hours of amazing wellbeing music. Originally performed overnight with beds and sleeping bags available, the audience expected to doze off! Brilliant.
#BCUITEChat We are having a "distance tea" with friends on Saturday. We have sent them a cake from Betty's Tea Room in Harrogate and they have sent us one (other online cakes are available). We are meeting through MS Teams when we will discover what cake they have sent us
#BCUITEChat Bradgate Park, Leicestershire, to see for a long distance again and a walk up to Old John will probably be more of a challenge than it was last time I scrambled up those last few rocky yards....
#BCUITEChat oh, and reconnecting with all the music that we have in vinyl, cassette tape (oh yes!), CD and now downloads, has been brilliant. It's definitely the soundtrack to your life,
#BCUITEChat - Gary's methods are so important, getting out on a daily walk and noticing the incredible blue sky with NO pollution and NO aircraft contrails have been crucial for me
#BCUITEChat my last piece of advice is, treat your support staff with respect, encourage a culture in your classroom of "learning not simply activity", and encourage your support colleagues to innovate with this idea
#BCUITEChat As Christine says, technical colleagues are also support staff, they have a wealth of knowledge and are key for Art and Design teachers to engage with
@chris_swan @BCUITEChat#BCUITEChat Q4) agreed, some of the Art and Design trainees have produced very interesting on-line learning resources to support their schools during the closure. These will go into their Progress Journal as innovative evidence for TS3
@MBoulton22#BCUITEChat Q2) use the "reflection" sections of lesson plans as the starting point for the next lesson plan, use both docs. as evidence for your reflective practice in your next weekly meeting, even better if you have an LOR that comments on this
@BCUITEChat#BCUITEChat Q5 for a subject like Art and Design - as much fun as possible, more "cutting and sticking" than "drawing and painting", ie: collage principle in joining up ideas and making new connections, either digitally or manually
@KellyDNicklin#BCUITEChat primary age children I know are starting the day with Joe Wickes then their Mum has devised a timetable that organises the delivery what has come from the school in a bit of a lump apparently. This requires Mum on-site & brave enough to take on the teacher role though
@GaryBcu@BCUITEChat#BCUITEChat Big Blue Button is very good for enabling discussions that can be led by the teacher, ground rules once agreed by all prevent cacophony, especially good for question and answer sessions
