it’s official - Anthropic just refused the Pentagon’s demands, dario’s statement is doesn’t fuck around:
- “these threats do not change our position: we cannot in good conscience accede to their request.” - dario
- he described the pentagons efforts to force him to enable claude for mass surveillance and autonomous killing weapons
- dario’s response: mass surveillance is not democratic and Claude isn’t good enough to enable autonomous weapons - we won’t cave
- dario will help governmenr transition to a NEW provider if they choose to blacklist anthropic.
fucking wild - fair play for sticking by their code of honor.
DCA works well for most bc once we've entered a "good enough" price range (which we have), you limit your ability to miss the upside opportunity, even if you don't nail the bottom.
Hence, consistent DCA is the right strategy for most market participants. To run through some #'s
1/ While I would be happy to be proven wrong, I don't think undercollateralized algostables can work
I have been thinking about this for almost a decade and have not come up with a plausible solution that I believe in - otherwise 6529USD would be a thing 😂

@Carnage4Life To your point about them not being a tech co - <10% net revenue investment in each of tech and marketing. Investing even 10% of just DVD-by-mail revenue would be nearly $20m in user research! https://t.co/ReonoAcrLz
@Carnage4Life Bad hot take - bad SWE and poor testing is blamed for the Ariane 5 disaster, not the Ada language or rocketry in general. Picking on blockchain or smart contracts for this testing failure is lazy confirmation bias https://t.co/YAyO0C6jFz
One thing it took me quite a while to understand is how few bits of information it's possible to reliably convey to a large number of people.
When I was at MS, I remember initially being surprised at how unnuanced their communication was, but it really makes sense in hindsight.
China tried to stymie bitcoin's hashrate. But in 2021, $BTC showcased its resilience through its recovery.
@CambridgeAltFin’s data suggest China is no longer the dominant geographic player in hashrate.

Long-time blockchain-as-technology fan & reinvent-all-fintech advocate here, but NFTs seem simultaneously inevitable/desirable and also fraught with problems in their current incarnations. @moxie has a great writeup of issues the NFT craze is overlooking: https://t.co/GdUuvyhTxL
@Origin1Crypto In the battle of the CUSIP-enabled BTC vehicles $GBTC seems to be winning, while losing to underlying BTC. But what happens if Grayscale app to convert to ETF is approved? Correction further down? $GBTC gaps up?
