F-35 components were misrouted.
Pentagon tracking failed.
Parts disappeared.

More than a million F-35 spare parts had already gone missing over the previous five years.

And the headline anxiety becomes:

What if China gets them?

Perhaps the first question should be:
How the hell does the Pentagon keep losing parts from one of the most expensive weapons programs in human history?

And the irony is even better.

While Washington panics over whether China might reverse-engineer pieces of the F-35, China is already pushing multiple next-generation fighter programs of its own, while the U.S. Navy’s F/A-XX is still fighting through delays, funding disputes and contractor selection.

America loses the parts.
China becomes the threat.

Apparently even Pentagon incompetence now requires a Chinese villain.

European automakers failed to produce, at comparable price points and speed, the vehicles European consumers increasingly want — so now they are demanding that China curb its sales.

Funny how this principle never existed when European carmakers dominated China.

When Volkswagen alone held around 40% of China’s passenger-car market, nobody in Brussels was demanding that European brands voluntarily cap themselves to protect Chinese automakers.

Back then, it was called “globalization.”

Now that European firms are losing the competition at home, the same market dynamics have suddenly become a “political emergency.”

If European consumers want Chinese cars, perhaps Europe should try building cars they actually want to buy.
