Donald Trump announced on Truth Social today that CNN, MS NOW and Politico are banned from the White House, effective immediately, because he dislikes what they report. He named no specific story and offered no process, only a promise that other outlets would follow, which is the part worth reading.

That promise is the real policy. A ban on three newsrooms is a punishment, but a list that can grow is a leash, and every editor still holding a press pass now knows precisely what a hard question might cost.

Censorship rarely needs to silence everyone when it can simply teach the survivors to whisper.
Free presses are seldom killed in one dramatic blow. They are thinned out, one credential at a time, until the briefing room is full of people who agree, and the man at the podium can finally hear nothing but applause.

Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social tonight that the United States has reached an "Infinite Life Agreement" with Denmark and Greenland, one that gives Washington permanent control over the island's security, bars adversaries from building bases or making sensitive investments there without written American approval, and costs the United States nothing at all.

He promised a large new military presence and called the whole thing a dream come true.

Denmark confirmed it within the hour. Copenhagen and Nuuk expect to sign next week at the UN General Assembly, and according to Mette Frederiksen the agreement strengthens security in the Arctic and North Atlantic while recognising the Kingdom's sovereignty, its territorial integrity and the Greenlanders' right to decide their own future. Jens-Frederik Nielsen calls it good for the entire Western alliance, and neither of them mentions control, vetoes or eternity.

That may be because most of it has been sitting in a drawer since 1951. The defence agreement signed that year, under the NATO umbrella, already lets American forces build bases and move freely across Greenland for as long as the alliance exists. Trump has spent eighteen months threatening an ally to win something America never actually lost.

🇷🇺 The Trojan Horse in the Oval Office

For a decade Trump has insisted that every link between him and Moscow was a hoax, a witch hunt cooked up by sore losers. CNN now reports that fourteen Russian spy satellites swept over Prince Sultan Air Base two days before Iran struck it on March 27, wounding twelve Americans and destroying an AWACS aircraft that had been moved and was found anyway.

American officials say Russian data very likely fed that strike and several others, including one on a CIA facility in Riyadh, in a war that has by the Pentagon's own count killed at least eleven American service members.

This is where the hoax collides with the body count. Putin helps Tehran put missiles onto American bases, and the president answers with a warm phone call about trade, according to the Kremlin, and a plan to strip a third of America's forces out of Europe, which happens to be precisely what Moscow has wanted since 1949.

Whether it is design or vanity hardly matters any more, because America has wheeled a Trojan horse into the Oval Office and the damage is being done from the inside. This is, after all, a man who barks at allies and goes weak at the knees for anyone with a scowl and a secret police, and one suspects that had bin Laden only paid him a compliment, he too would have been a very, very smart guy who had been treated very unfairly.

The remarkable thing is that the whole world can see it. Europe sees it, Canada sees it and is taking notes, and Moscow and Tehran saw it first and acted accordingly. Only one nation on earth still hasn't worked it out, and it is the one paying in aircraft, bases, allies and lives. History will struggle to explain how a superpower allowed itself to be so thoroughly outmanoeuvred by a man it had been warned about for ten years.

Umar Kremlev didn’t exist in 2009. A guy named Umar Lutfulloyev did. Late 20s, Serpukhov thug, two convictions — extortion in 2004, beating the shit out of people in 2007. Taxi work, construction, “security.” The usual starter pack.

Then he walks into a registry office in 2010 and becomes Umar Kremlev. Cleaner last name. Cleaner paperwork. Convenient.

He hangs with the Night Wolves, Putin’s favorite biker gang, and lucks into a friendship with Alexei Rubezhnoi — the man who runs the president’s personal security. That’s the whole origin story. Not a brilliant businessman. A guy who found the right bodyguard.

Rubezhnoi puts him in charge of the Russian Boxing Federation. Then Kremlev takes the International Boxing Association, the one the IOC kicked out of the Olympics for being a dumpster fire. Gazprom money shows up. Prize pots get huge. Everyone pretends not to notice the smell.

Meanwhile the real money arrives. Putin’s government hands him the sports betting market. His companies end up behind Fonbet, Pari, Liga Stavok. His outfit becomes the single accounting center for every legal bet in Russia. National lottery too.

That’s not hustle. That’s the Kremlin picking a guy with a rap sheet and giving him an entire industry because he’s useful and loyal. He even said it out loud: unlimited opportunities thanks to one person, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.

So when this guy drops six figures on a private island and fireworks for Don Jr.’s wedding, it’s not “a generous friend who loves boxing and hunting.” It’s a twice-convicted Putin cutout buying access to the president’s kid.

We sometimes hear that Russia only wants limited territorial concessions in eastern Ukraine.

It doesn’t.

Ceding that territory would force Ukrainian troops out of fortified positions. Add Moscow’s demand for immediate elections, and the broader aim becomes clear: political collapse — followed by the takeover of Ukraine.

We have seen this playbook before.

In 1939, Moscow demanded limited basing rights from Estonia. Less than a year later, we were occupied and annexed.

Territory is the means. Ukraine is the objective.
