East Midlands Dog Rescue
We are looking for a very special adopter for Betty, a 15 month old French Bulldog cross who sadly lost a front leg due to injury.
Her special person will need lots of dedication, compassion, patience and leadership, be willing to include Betty in everyday activities, while keeping her safe and happy, and ideally have a carpeted indoor area and level, secure garden.
She will make a loyal, lovable companion but is very high energy, mischievous and full of fun so not for the faint hearted.
She has been through an awful lot and the trauma of past experiences will need understanding and time to heal.
A young worthwhile girl with bags of potential for the right person.

18 years ago today, three young Paratroopers set out on patrol in Afghanistan. None of them came home.
On 8 June 2008, Private Nathan Cuthbertson, Private Daniel Gamble, and Private Charles David "Dave" Murray of 4 Platoon, B Company, 2 PARA were operating in the Upper Sangin Valley, Helmand Province.
Nathan was just 19 years old, a machine gunner and Infantry Assault Engineer from Sunderland. Known for his infectious smile and willingness to help anyone, he had joined the Army at just 16.
Daniel, 22, from East Sussex, was more than a rifleman. Chosen as one of only a handful of soldiers trained in Pashto, he helped build relationships with the local Afghan population while serving on the front line.
Dave Murray, also just 19, came from Carlisle. Friends remembered him as a young man with a huge heart, a brilliant sense of humour, and the qualities of a future leader.
That morning, at around 11 a.m., a suicide bomber struck near Forward Operating Base Inkerman.
Despite the desperate efforts of their comrades and medics, all three Paratroopers lost their lives.
Their deaths marked the 100th British fatality of the Afghanistan campaign.
They were soldiers. They were sons, brothers, grandsons, nephews, and friends. Three young men with their whole lives ahead of them, united in service and remembered together in sacrifice.
Today, we remember Private Nathan Cuthbertson, Private Daniel Gamble, and Private Charles David Murray.
Never forgotten 🌹🇬🇧

This is why we do what we do.
Today was one of those moments that reminds us why Dogs on the Streets exists.
We were contacted by the police after Miss D’s owner had been taken into hospital. They needed help, and without hesitation, we stepped in. Because that's what we do.
Too often, when someone faces an unexpected crisis, the first question becomes, "What happens to the dog?" We believe that a temporary emergency should never automatically mean a dog loses the person they love. It should never mean unnecessary surrender, rehoming, or, in the worst cases, destruction.
Our job is to protect that bond wherever we possibly can.
Today, after caring for Miss D while her owner was in hospital, we were able to reunite them.
The moment they saw each other was unforgettable. Miss D whole body lit up with excitement, her tail never stopped wagging, and the pure joy on both of their faces said everything words never could.
This is the reality of what we do.
We don't just support dogs. We support people through their darkest moments, giving them one less thing to worry about while ensuring their beloved companion stays safe until they can be together again.
A huge thank you to the emergency services for trusting us to help. Working together means families stay together , even the four-legged ones.
This is Dogs on the Streets.
Protecting dogs. Supporting owners. Keeping families together.

A very special reunion...
This little beauty, Miss N, came into our care after her owner suddenly collapsed and was taken to hospital. The police contacted us to assist with fostering Miss N and we did and she was kept safe while her owner received the urgent medical care they needed.
Thankfully, there was never any risk of Miss N being rehomed. She simply needed a safe, loving place to stay until her owner was well enough and contactable.
When the day finally came for them to be reunited, there wasn't a dry eye.
The tears, the emotions and the overwhelming relief were truly unforgettable.
Moments like these remind us why we do what we do.
At Dogs on the Streets, we don't work to arbitrary timescales. We care for dogs for as long as necessary, ensuring they remain safe, loved and well looked after until their owners are fit, able and ready to continue their journey together.
We were honoured to be able to support both Miss N and her owner during such a difficult time, and we wish them many more happy years together.
Every donation and every share helps us continue providing this lifeline to vulnerable people and their beloved companions. Thank you for helping us make reunions like this possible. 🧡
