Last night, Riley Greene became the 3rd player in franchise history to surpass 85 homers, 300 runs, and 300 RBI before turning 26 years old.
The other two: Al Kaline and Travis Fryman.

From the Peter Chase Files (game notes: Riley Greene, ironman. He is the first Tiger to play in the first 81 games since Yoenis Cespedes played in the 102 in 2015, which got him traded to the Mets. Greene, Pete Alonso and Cole Young only three in MLB to play in first 81 games
Ausar has 28 steals and 23 blocks through 13 playoff games, so I went to @stathead to see how many other players in the play-by-play era have done that. And yeah, it's just he and Ben Wallace, but Ben had 35 steals and 38 blocks through 13 games in '03. Dude was a true phenomenon
Kevin McGonigle is the first player in Tigers history with at least 45 hits and 24 walks in his first 40 big league games. He is only the second Tiger in franchise history, age 21-years-old or younger, to tally 45 hits in his first 40 major league games, joining Travis Fryman who had 47 hits in his first 40 major league games in 1990.
Riley Greene has been one of MLB's top hitters over the last few weeks.
Dating back to April 11, he ranks 2nd in batting average (.417), 2nd in OBP (.533), and 6th in OPS (1.228). As a team, we've posted a 9-3 record over that span.

With 6.0 scoreless innings today, Framber Valdez became the first Tigers pitcher to throw a quality start in the home opener since Spencer Turnbull in 2019.
He is the first to do so in both the home opener and his home debut for the Tigers since Jordan Zimmermann in 2016.
JV also tied Randy Johnson with 2 pitches thrown 96+ MPH age 43 or older (https://t.co/Qjh8FTojBJ). Here's his pitching performance, which will be on the TMLR Patreon only starting with the season opener, so please be sure to sign up! https://t.co/yhLvPcJjrR
Radio broadcasts will be available for 20 Tigers Spring Training games, including today's Grapefruit League opener against the Yankees.
Games will air on 97.1 FM or 1270 AM in Metro Detroit, and for free throughout Michigan on the Audacy App.
Health Update:
Hey friends, while I navigate this health journey, I wanted to update you on where I stand diagnosis-wise.
I am currently fighting Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. On paper, this means I will never (barring a miracle) be “in remission,” but instead have a mission of reaching “NED,” otherwise known as “No evidence of disease.”
With this being a blood based cancer, we are treating this as a chronic illness, meaning the goal is to manage it, with the understanding that I will require life long treatment.
As I’ve said, I plan to fight this hard and push for the longest, richest life possible.
It’s a heavy diagnosis, but with my trust in the Lord and the support of my army across the globe, I’m going to find the joy, regardless of the weight of the fight.
If you’d like to support my journey, anything is welcomed and more appreciated than I could ever express.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, and trust me I am NOT siding with Tigers ownership here.
But Framer Valdez making $38 million a year has nothing to do with Tarik Skubal and what he is or isn’t worth in arbitration.
I think Skubal is the best pitcher in baseball. Do I think he should be the highest paid pitcher in baseball? Yes.
But Framber was a Free Agent and Tarik Skubal is in arbitration. They are very different things.
I was blessed to spend an hour with Willie Horton
He told me that the first time he showed up to spring ball, he was not allowed to get a taxi to the stadium because he was black.
He said Lolich and Kaline found out and drove him everywhere. He said they made sure he was always safe and got wherever he needed.
He said they very publicly played basketball together in their free time at a time when most white guys wouldn’t do that
Mickey was the real deal in every sense of the word.
