Lagos Launches Free Health Programme for Drivers, Targets Safer Roads

The Lagos State Government has launched a free health and safety programme for professional drivers, targeting improved road safety and higher standards of professionalism across the state.

Speaking at the event, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Transportation and Logistics, Hassan Adekoya, explained that the initiative is designed to improve driver fitness, promote responsible driving and reduce crashes, particularly among truck drivers.

The programme is scheduled to run from Monday, February 9 to Thursday, February 12, 2026, as part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to protect drivers and other road users in Lagos.
