Check out my lastest LinkedIn Article, it explains how the Antibiotic Breakpoint Explorer - ABE, can help with remembering intrinsic resistance patterns in Gram-negatives. https://t.co/e6RVmR6KE9
Sometimes you just need the antibiotic interpretation. The Antibiotic Breakpoint Explorer (ABE) 1.0 is here to help! My web app is free to use and provides quick acccess for 15 Gram negatives and 30 antibiotics for CLSI, EUCAST and FDA. Check it out at: https://t.co/OnGLuJs6oJ
.@petrifiedbugs from @WeillCornell will preview some exciting new clinical research data investigating the accuracy of respiratory pathogen detection using an NGS solution compared to routine microbiology culture identification during our Monday #WorldMicrobeForum office hours.
Congratulations to our newest journal @LancetMicrobe on their first issue! Featuring an Editorial laying out the ambitious plans for the journal
"Current events have made it clear that a journal such as ours has arrived just in time to help the microbial research community"
Before & after: A sneak peak into how @WCMCPathology transformed labs @WeillCornell in early March to battle #COVID19.
#Pathology Department leaders below oversaw construction of the e3 virology lab for testing on the Cobas 6800, an RT-PCR test to detected the COVID virus.
Stopping by the Scripps Research Institute today! I spent many years there as a postdoc and I can’t be more excited to be back sharing my experience interviewing for faculty positions!

Fascinating #MicroRounds@WCMCPathology today! Excellent presentation by Dr. Jake Sweeney on Candida krusei--not only an opportunistic pathogen in transplant patients but crucial to coffee production where it is used for cocoa fermentation to decrease bitterness #IDPath#hemepath
T. cruzi in the urine sediment of a kidney allograft recipient, easily the most amazing find that I had the chance to see during my career! https://t.co/IzOhCX7GZR
@evemariecrane@WCMCPathology Guesses as to what it was?! Candida krusei!
My fav memory trick thanks to @richdavisphd
C. krusei is cruising through the flu's - intrinsically resistant to flucanozole!
Drs. Crane & Craney join forces next week for a very special micro rounds @WCMCPathology! Topics include common post-stem cell transplant infectious complications, including this one involving the bone marrow. Any guesses as to its identity? Join us Thurs Dec 12, 11 am in micro!
Today @KarissaPhD is presenting the final @ASMicrobiology webinar on artificial intelligence applications in #ClinMicro. See you there!

I’m not one to post selfies, but my copy of Comp Rev of Infectious Diseases was on my doorstep when I got home, and It. Is. Amazing!! I actually hugged it b/c I’m so happy & proud! I hadn’t seen the other chapters b4, but there is a TON of GREAT info!! @FungalDoc @MDdreamchaser
@Microetry @Morgan_morganii@DocMartin_33 So you want to verify a new susceptibility testing method?
You need sufficient agreement w/ established methods: agree categorically ("susceptible" "resistant"), agree "essentially" (+/- a doubling dilution) w/ minimal "error" (miscategorizing resistance) #ClinMicroJournalClub
