RWS' 7.62 mm Urban Drone Defence - Light was recently acquired by the 🇫🇷 Navy. These will be used in their M134s, primarily for the protection of the Île Longue SSN/ SSBN base.
Dear manufacturers, please stop using LLM generated images at defence shows. It is the one place where most people can tell it is fake, and it usually looks awful.
🇺🇦 When asked, a representative from Roshel confirmed to me that the company has localised assembly of the Senator MRAP in Ukraine and is working continuously to localise the manufacturing of components.
They also clarified to me that the recent Canadian pledge for 383 vehicles is made up of 100 ambulances, 82 command posts and 201 troop carriers.
I may have got this wrong. I think looking at the back, it may also be VLS capable. Note the pivot points for the container. But would need to confirm! A choice between more flexible VLS and more efficient directed launch would be cool.
Unlike the EldE 98, it is not vertically launched (although it does have containerised missile, also unlike EldE 98). Somewhat odd, but I can only imagine that is due to the placement of the search radar and the arguably does prevent wasted energy if operators can position the launcher in the direction of an expected target. VLS would provide more flexibility for the operators however.
Also seems to use the Giraffe 1X from Saab.
