I am just now realizing the software I use to automatically post stuff makes the images fairly low quality for Twitter - apologies for that. I'll try to fix it, but in the meantime, my Flickr has full resolution images if you want to see them: https://t.co/SUAavklvAv
I decided to stay at the H Hotel in LA this time to make use of the famous top deck for plane spotting - it did not disappoint! I caught this Delta A359 on approach with a gorgeous sunrise in the background.
I spent some time in Los Angeles last month and managed to get a bunch of awesome shots! First one up, this @elalusa Boeing 787 wearing the extremely dapper El Al retro livery! This was my first time photographing El Al, super lucky to catch a special!
I happed to be at MSP recently to catch a friend's flight and this Hawaiian A332 just happened to be diverting on a JFK-HNL route because of a medical issue. Hope all is well with the individual.
This one is a throw back to the summer when this Royal Air Force Airbus A400M visited MSP a couple times in a week. These are some gorgeous aircraft, love the noise and that massive tail!
The weather was finally good enough to go out and do some spotting this past weekend! Didn't get much, but it was great to be out again. I caught this @delta CRJ900 making a 12L departure to the east in that nice low winter sun.
It's a bit weird seeing a bandit mask on a 787, but honestly, I kind of dig the look! This @aircanada Boeing 787 was photographed on short final at LAS during my November trip there.
More LAS love! This time, @jetblue's dapper looking Airbus A320 wearing a special Bostic Celtics livery. Not many green birds out there, based on how good this looks, I think there should be!
Happy Friday! Here is another summer throw back - this time from the Duluth Airshow. This was my first time photographing a KC-135 in flight. Look at those super beefy landing gear!
@jasonChampton I have also found that Clutters can be a little more temperamental, literally. So much concrete/asphalt between you and the aircraft makes heat distortion common and fairly unavoidable. Not to discount it as an awesome spot though!
@jasonChampton I would say it depends on what you want to capture. Cargo departures are good from Clutters, arrivals from Proud Bird. Northern arrivals H Hotel or, my favorite, the new economy garage. In & Out is good in the afternoon/evening otherwise it is backlit.
Here is a summer time throw back! This @airfrance 777 made an unusually on time departure resulting in some stunning light and gorgeous cotton candy summer skies. Really missing these conditions right about now.
I caught the first and only A340 special livery during my trip to Denver a few months back. I'm a big fan of spotting these interesting looking quad-jets, especially the longer -600 variant, but I'll take the -300 :P
The Patriots brought their team-owned 767 when they played against the Vikings a few weeks back. Unfortunately they were slightly late, and got sent to an unexpected runway so the shots were not as great as I'd like. Still worth it to see a really cool looking plane though!
Happy #smallplanesunday everybody! This week I have this elegant looking Gulfstream G550 that I photographed on short final at Las Vegas. I was positioned almost directly below the flight path so I was able to get some nice close detailed shots!
