And if and when I come back, I’ll remember who decided to go all in on Jew hatred and who had our backs. Because that’s one big reason we have survived as a people for so long.
And if you’ve made it this far and want to know my insta handle to keep up with me, DM me.

So with all this bs on main and my medical issues over the past year, I know I could just go quietly and come back when I feel safe. But I refuse to be silenced like the world wants me to be as a Jewish woman. I refuse to live in fear. But I will protect myself. So, bye for now.
And Netanyahu is awful and I wish he wasn’t Israel’s leader (as do most Israelis) and I don’t agree with him or his policies and believe he is fundamentally evil. But Israel has a right to exist. Just like England or Morocco - other “religious ethnostates” do.
During the BLM protests, a big part of the discourse was people are more important than property. And with the way the Israeli hostages are being treated on here, it’s clear you don’t see us as people. We’re acceptable property losses. Subhuman.
The classic scapegoating playbook during tough or confusing times starts with isolating Jews. Blaming us for problems. Ignoring facts. Dehumanizing us. I’m not Israeli, but what happens in Israel affects me. I have family there. Even family who Hamas killed.
I miss screenwriting Twitter. But everytime I log in, I get bombarded with antisemitism in my feed - even from people in screenwriting Twitter. I tell stories about Jews in love. And basically… I don’t feel safe here anymore, which sucks, because I loved the community.
The entirety of my known family’s history is being told we didn’t belong in Eastern Europe and facing violence & discrimination there. But now you’re telling me we’re really Europeans & indigenous to Eastern Europe?? Which is it?
I think I connect deeply to a feeling of diaspora because I just don’t care about states and land. I understand many do. I fight for indigenous connections to land. But for myself…I just want to say nothing is more important then protecting children bombs & massacres
@Dan_Ast@ValleyWritersMU Thanks! Unfortunately, the big thing I’m dealing with now has monopolized my evenings, but I am SO looking forward to a writer mixer again soon!
I’m dealing with a big difficult thing right now. Writing makes me happy. Talking to other writers about writing makes me happy. This app is not making me happy. I’d love to connect with other writers as my time allows. So if you want to chat, reply here.
@ScriptsByJames @BlkAssFeminist Antisemitism comes from 19th century German pamphlets abt aryan superiority over Jews. The word is related to the language group, but it has never meant a prejudice against Semitic languages/those who speak them and always has been the word to describe prejudice agst Jews.
Writing at a coffee shop is funny because I look around at the other folks on their laptops and they are working on important spreadsheets and business proposals and I’m over here like “how many “suddenlys” is too many in a script???”
American hatred is so wild.
The same people preaching “AMERICA FIRST!” want to give billions to another state because those missiles will kill Arabs.
Or because they want to trigger their goofy-ass endtimes prediction.
Or both.
Many Jewish people in Israel and around the world are BEGGING Israel to stop. Victims of the massacres by Hamas are calling for humanity & a political solution. We’re protesting, demanding a ceasefire. What else would you like us to do?
@RachelShukert “We’re taught from childhood to be good guests.” 🎯
This whole thread is 💯, but that sentence especially.
It’s an existential truth. We’re good guests because we don’t know when we’ll be forced to leave.
